Boo to KTMtwins

Ordered an evoluzion slave cylinder last week. They emailed saying it was on back order and will ship in 4-7 days, they will email tracking number when it ships. 7 days was Wednesday. I sent two emails, no response. Four phone calls- left a message (no response) and no answer on the rest (message machine full) What gives?

I WAS going to ride tomorrow.....

Is your slave dead or you just want to upgrade? I believe you can throw fresh o-rings in the existing slave to get you thru your ride. Viton -021 o or X-ring.

Its dead. I suppose I could doctor it for a ride, but the point is- crappy service from these guys!

I just called again and got an actual person who promptly hung up on me. When I called back I got the full answering machine. WTF?

I hucky-pucked mine with JB Weld

I wasn't the o-ring, the piston cracked at the junction between the piston and the ball holder. Just file off the peens that hold the ball in, dump the ball out, and pour in a little JB. Be careful not to use too much. Lasted me for over a year...

I once had a shipment from them, that had a whole new drive train that I needed, that got "delayed" just before my most recent trip to Alaska.

They rush shipped it and sent me free stickers!

Give them a chance...

Trying to give them a chance, but.... WTF?!!!!

Listen to your messages!

It is this kind of stuff that makes me never use them again and tell everyone I know not to use them. Communication is key. They could have said something in the first email.

Communication is key..

I guess it's a good thing that I haven't had to chime in for any reason for a long time... But I'm feeling the need today.
As most of our loyal and long term customers know Ron is "the" man at KTMtwins and on a daily basis handles each and every order personally. Well he's been out for a couple weeks for ACL surgery and will be back shortly. In the mean time we have had plenty of staff covering for him but there is simply no substitute for Ron's vast knowledge and experience.
As expected, there have been a few hiccups though for the most part things have gone along smoothly. But for anyone who has had an issue I ask that you accept my personal apologies. I'm here at the shop everyday and if anyone needs more assistance while Ron is out I can be reached at 415-621-7223 or even better you can email me at don@scuderia.com
We appreciate your business and will always do our best.
Get well quick (and get back to work) messages for Ron can be sent to ron@ktmwins.com :)
Personal note to Hobbes: Left you a VM, your master is shipping out today and if you need it sooner than Monday/Tuesday call me and I'll pay the extra to express it.
Cheers,

Nice to see a shop stepping up. I've got some things I need to order for my 950 this fall. You'll see my order once I have time to put it all together.

Way to Go Don !

I have placed 3 orders within the last 3 weeks for a KTM Spark Plug socket Wrench, new Clutch and rear brake rebuild kit..

All 3 orders arrived ontime.

The best part is I don't have to tell your staff what the part # is they look it up for me...

You and your staff rock !

KtmTwins is a great place to deal with. you are the type of customer that everyone just loves to deal with. When was that las time you gave praise to someone?
Hopefully the next time you stub your toe you don't have someone dragging you through the mud. Boo to you.

I work in food service. I know about complaints, and I know about praise. Thanks to Don for his message, and I understand about being understaffed. My only issue was that I sent 3 emails and made 6 phone calls (only one got through) and I did not receive any response til now, 2 days after my item should have shipped. I did finally get an email today with an apology saying they didnt have the part yet, then an hour later saying they had it and it is on its way.

Funny thing is, I got a faster response by posting on this forum than I did by attempting to contact the company- 9 times in 3 days.

This is the first time I have used KTMtwins and it is a shame to have such an introduction. Hate to be such sour grapes over it, but it suck to have a bike in pieces in the shop for a week and a half.

As I said, a little communication would have been key. Seeing as that "the man" has been gone, and understanding how key some people can be to running a place. I will definitely give KTMtwins another go when the time comes.

I can't say enough good things about KTMtwins and Ron, and I also know how slow an ACL injury heals...patience is the key...mend well.

Too bad this sad thread didn't start like: "hi fellow ADVriders, i need a replacement clutch slave cylinder, and presently cannot wait on a backorder. Can anyone help me ride this weekend?" Heck, one of us might have overnighted a spare on his own dime to help a sincere member of this community.
