Tracks Southern France
Traveling to Southern France, in the region of Cannes. Does anyone know where to find some nice off-road tracks or scenic routes I shouldn't miss ?
Thanks ! |

Chamonix to Nice off road
myself and a couple of friends are planning the same sort of thing, chamonix to nice area, looking to do most of it off road, The Grand Route Des Alps runs that way but its a road, there are al ot of "GR" foot paths all round the alps.
Try getting hold of an "institut geographique national" french OS map. (itineraires de grande randonnee en france) shows all foot paths in france. as for off road trails im still looking.. |

) The reason is simply that too many idiots have misused public roads as racetracks and carefully maintained mountain tracks as motocross terrain. ![]() As for the scenic routes, it's easy: get the Michelin maps 1:200k and enjoy. For a preview: http://www.viamichelin.com/ ... you won't miss "offroad" at all ...

Thanks
Thanks for the advice. In the mean time, I also found some great GPS tracks on the UKGS site (80 virées à moto).

On the Italian French border around 'Tende' there are pleasant tracks with the abandoned forts to sleep in.
It's true that because of idiots the law is enforced more now, but IMO, if you're legal and riding cool np. |
