Cool2 Chapada dos Guimarães - MT, Brazil

From: Brasília - DF
To: Chapada dos Guimarães - MT

2.100 km round trip. Google Maps Link

September 7th is Brazil Independence day. There is a huge parade here in Brasilia. Unfortunately, I miss it every year because I go riding

This year, we went to a very beautiful place here in Brazil called Chapada dos Guimarães. Chapada means Canyon. Guimarães is the name of this one. As you will see in the pictures, it resembles the Grand Canyon, only with more green.
Besides the sightseeing, there are many waterfalls for you to enjoy. If feels really good to take a bath in those after riding under a hot sun.

First day
From: Brasília -DF
To: Goiás - GO

Preparing to leave.
Yes, I tried to build my own windshield - It sucks. I took it off soon after.

The sun was shining bright

Filling the tank

First stop. Yammy things to eat :-)

I'll change the sticker later. It was the only one yellow and black in the shop.

Side view.

Hotel in Goiás - GO, our midway destination. A very nice city. It was the first capital of Goiás state. Its charm comes from the fact that the historic building remains the same as two centuries ago.

Street of Goiás.

Second day
From: Goiás - GO
To: Cuiabá - MT

City Hall in the morning.

At the house on the left lives a famous poet - Cora Coralina.

I had a little accident because I'm not used to these old strees made of rocks. And because of my short legs too.
Note - This picture was taken in the parking lot. You can see some rocks two pictures above, but they are smaller than the ones that made me fall. :/

Rio Vermelho - River Red

Breakfast at the Hotel - very good!

Jussara - MT. We are now in Mato Grosso state.

Third day
From: Cuiabá - MT
To: Chapada dos Guimarães - MT

Cuiabá - MT, the capital city of Mato Grosso state.

We finally met our friends at Balneário Salgadeira.

This is one of the three hundred waterfalls that exist in the Chapada

An Yamaha XT660. Very popular here in Brazil.

Parking lot of the restaurant Morro dos Ventos - Wind Hill

Great bikes!

Lunch time!

Third day afternoon

Staring at the horizon.

Who like bags?

Someone got to hitch a hike :-)

Girls love pets.

Every small town has a nice square. I love them.

Sunset.

Last day
Back home

We woke up early to get the road.

Once more we stopped at Goiás - GO. This time for having lunch.

This thing in the middle of the square is called Coreto. It is kind of a stage every town had a couple centuries ago.

This is it. I'm longing for the next ride!

Indeed we had!
You are right. There are many ADV riders in Brazil, but I think they don't like to write in english...

I've been to Curitiba last April in the National meeting of Clube XT600. Amazing city. Lots of beautiful women.
