Really appriciate the comments!

Tires are like hair cuts....its usually not long before your ready fore the next one....unless you like (or have no choice) running on baldies!

With that in mind I have orderd the TKC so will give it a crack and see how it performs for me. Will definately keep ya posted on the results!!

The MT21 is a sweet tyre.

On the front.

On the back I'd rather use a racing slick.

I personally believe the MT21 is best viewed in a catalog. Though I am regaining respect for the D606 on the front...and I am falling in love with the Kenda Trakmaster II on the rear of my 690...used to run the trakmaster on my DRZ...works even better on the bigger bike.

tires

I used the trakmaster and it does not last very well on bigger bikes.
whar other tires would you recommend?

The last 3-hour x-country race I did was with an MT21 front and K760 rear. Went quite nicely.

The K760 is quite a good "extreme" adventure tyre.

I have over 1000 miles on the rear trakmaster on my 690 so far and there is still life left in it. I have never been real hard on tires though...a lot of it depends on your throttle style.

I paid too much for the trakmaster that I bought but it was an emergency and I was in Canada and I had to buy it at a local shop. If you order one through Rocky mountain atv you can a rear for $46.99 for a 120/100x18.

On bigger bikes such as my 950 and my 690 I have used on the rear:

Michelin Baja
Michelin Desert
Dunlop 908
Kenda 760
Pirelli MT21
Pirelli Scorpion
Avon Venom
Moto z Tractionator
Dunlop Trials tire.

The trials tire has the best grip out of all the tires but its not something you want to go more than 50 mph on and its happiest in the slower technical terrain.

The Michelin Baja and Desert tires work well in the looser terrain and wear quite well but are both expensive and may be hard to find these days.

The Moto-Z tires are reasonably priced, last a long time, are very durable, but are heavy.

The Pirelli Scorpion is an 90/10% highway/dirt tire that works well and the Avons are 100% street with a lot of grip.

I hated the MT21's and the 908's were very squirrely until I got used to them but i still wouldn't use them again...they are cheap though.

I've posted my insights on the Kenda.
