North on Hwy 25.

The original plan was to head straight to La Gloria Road, but I had never taken Old Hernandez and the temptation was too great (I was pushing my fuel range by making this decision... ) so I turned up Coalinga Road and rode out to Old Hernandez Road.

Old Hernandez was awesome. At first, I thought I was missing something, but then I reached the sign I was looking for...

Nice views and a fun water crossing. Old H turned out to be a great detour.

Back on Hwy 25 to La Gloria Road. No sign coming from the southern direction.

La Gloria Road is a lot of fun. Great views and scenery (and some more wild turkeys...)

The summit provides a nice view of the Salinas Valley before heading down the hill into Gonzales.

Much needed fuel stop in Gonzales and out to River Road for the ride north. Reservation Road to Hwy 1 and home. 505 miles in all. I was exhausted after a second full day of riding, but I still had energy to wash the bike. It was a great trip, thanks for reading!

I think you put together some of the best dirt in the area! Nice report and great pictures. That ride back home was a long one..

Thumb Awesome!

Great RR r3r3r!! (Pirates rejoice: 50% of the non-punctuation characters in that sentence are R's ). I've read a few reports about these roads and I've wanted to explore them for a while now. Your report is more fuel for the inspiration fire. Thanks for sharing and great photos.

Great stuff, and I do miss my NX. I may just head down that way next spring and check out those byways. Thanks!

Great pics and report, thank you for sharing.

Lots of great riding in that area. I'm lucky to have family in Pismo...
