Well I came upon a new question in this labyrinth. When i get the engine would there be any problems pairing it with another ECU unit? I´m thinking it would be locked or anything?

Don't let the naysayers get you down,,,If you have the will and the way,,,,,go for it.
When I started my project in shiny things people were saying you should do this and you should do that and It's a shame your cutting this thing up,,,,,,now that it's going back together it a different tune. This project sounds awesome I'm in.

F*** the bullshit. Just turbo or twin turbo your existing austrian vibrator and you'll get more explosive power than you'll know what do with. It's cheap when compaired to your build plans and if you keep the boost pressures low then your motor will last a bit longer.
Or if ur mr. Moneybags then import a Eva track 8 from the Netherlands and have a turbo diesel 3 cyl that gets insane has milage. Just be willing to shell out like 26k plus import tax etc.

Hi again
Sorting the brakes and would like to upgrade. Would the 950 adv 04 legs WP USD 4860 MXMA accept the "feets" from the superduke. I plan on mounting the radial brakes for more power for the added weight and specialness.... Regards Mikael ps: The SD legs are WP USD 4860 ROMA |

Dunno if the SD or Adv lower lug is removable(edit: doesn't show seperate part number in parts fiche). They are on the KTM450sm and xc suspension, which I have swapped before.
I am running the 950SM. It is modified: the radial 4piston caliper on one side with the extended mounting bolts and bushings for the SD, and a single 320mm rotor from the KTM450 SM(same size as SD) on an Adv hub and 19" rim. Still one finger stopping with the remote resevoir Mastercyl and lever I matched up, but easier to modulate than with the factory mastercyl pushing both big calipers and 310 rotors. Caution: I don't think you will be able to fit the radial mount calipers with 21" wheels. They are large and wide. I had to grind the casting seam on the back of the caliper to clear the stainless Buchanan spokes with my 19" wheel. You are talking about building a stable gravel blaster, however, and should consider the 19" front, like a flat tracker, an option for your design. The added road handling would be priceless with the right suspension.

I will wake this one up. It will sadly not be the RC8 engine.
But an RC8R ![]() Closed a deal the other day on this 09 RC8R 2300km engine. Crated and on my way. Pictures will follow. Finally things are happening. Mikael |

Did you buy it on ebay germany? I saw the ad for the RC8 motor was gone. I also just bought a new engine there, 2009 SD 990-R though so I can't keep up with your acceleration.

Pictures before shipping to my door.
![]() ![]() This was the easy part. Now the real deal starts, though it should be a good learning curve. Timings are max 6 months from now. Plan is a virgin adventure to Northcape before i return to Afghanistan. I hope you all will be helpfull through this process(as you always have been). I hope i can stay in this forum or the moderator should throw the thread elsewhere. I just thought this is closest to the 950´s. ![]() Mikael |

I discovered the add per ebay.de, but it didn´t sell. I contacted him on a english ktm forum(www.ktmforum.co.uk) and got it there. Its actually a long story ´cause we have been hagling with the price for almost 4months. Funny to look through the mailstory. I think some of the RC8R engines on ebay are pretty pricy. 5200euro is alot of money(half a bike). oh...its not a RC8, but a RC8R. |
