Does sizing on the C2 translate directly to a C3?
I heard that they made the C3 more oval.

Love my C2 but its getting old almost 4 now!

BTW most safety organizations I have read say a white helmet is the most visible. Doubt these studies were done when hi Viz was available tho.

Based on the fact that my expensive C2 bacame unusable after a fall off the seat of my GS (within the first few months of ownership), I wouldn't think of trying the C3 at any cost (well maybe if it was in the price range of the Japanese DOT flip ups.

And also based on that same fall, I'm glad I didn't have to depend on it in a real crash.

My 2 cents

God I love this helmet. Picked it up along with the integrated blue tooth collar when I was in Europe. I've had some nice helmets in my time but if it fit's your head the Schuberth C3 is simply the best touring helmet in the world.

It's nice that you're making them available here. Will you have the white one with the graphics?

I love it Jim. Happy to finally put a face with a name. Next time I am in RI I'm stopping in for some baked goodness.

Best,

Anthony

Hi RJ,

In my experience my medium C3 fits and I consider myself a typical medium intermediate oval head. I wear a medium in Arai, Shoei and Shark. I would say that the C3 sizing is in line with premium competitors sizing if you have a intermediate oval or intermediate round oval head shape.

If you have an extreme round or extreme long oval head you may have to go up in size, and even then there is no guarantee's. If you are an extreme in either direction this is probably not the ideal helmet to buy without trying it on.

Feel free to ping me on anything else.

Anthony

Hi Nesbo,

The C3 will fit along the lines of the C3 RF-1000. Modulars typically fit a hair bigger than their fixed face counterparts, so I could see how a M would work vs an L in the 1000.

At 22 inches you are a 55.8 cm which is on the low end of a medium, though. This is a bit of a dilemma. There are many folks out there wearing a helmet a size too big.

The C3 is an intermediate oval shape.

Worst case you order (we ship free) a M and if it is too small, send it back and we will ship you the new size for free as well.

For the level of investment, you want it to fit perfect. My gut is a medium will work.

Hey Gadget,

As soon as it is finished, we will post it. Still testing the unit.

Hey Eagle,

From everything I have seen and heard so far the C3 seems to be an updated shape with it a slightly more round approach to your typical intermediate oval (Shoei, Arai) vs the previous round shape that fits more closely to an HJC or Nolan.

I am a Medium in the C3 and also am a med in the Arai XD-3, RX-Q, Shoei RF-1100 and Qwest.

The C3 is closest to the Arai RX-Q and Shoei Qwest which are basically medium ovals with slightly more room in the temples and sides.

Does that answer your question?

Anthony

Looking good Fox in your Cayenne Pro and C3!

Not sure about the Graphics, at this point I would rather see the Hi-Viz come in.

I will keep everyone posted. Be sure to check back.

I picked up a C3 over the weekend at my local dealer. (sorry Anthony, I like helping out my local dealers whenever I can) I'm a solid medium in the Arai's but what really matters is the actual size of your head. I'm 57.5mm. Arai sizes their mediums at 57-58mm, but Schuberth sizes their medium 56-57mm. My C3 is a little snug, but I'm expecting it to pack down after a few days of riding to be just right. According to Schuberth's sizing chart, their large is 58-59 which I know is too big for me. The medium and large use the same size shell so if the medium doesn't pack down enough for me I'll buy a thinner liner and swap them out.

bottom line is measure your head and buy the right size by your head's circumference.

Hi Marty,

Thanks for chiming in here. We have not seen this be a major issue, but for anyone who is unsure we always recommend a measurement as a starting place. At the cost of these we usually talk sizing with anyone whos thinking of purchasing.

You are correct the Schuberth will fit a hair small as their medium range ends a CM smaller than the Arai or Shoei at 57 for the Schuberth, vs 58 for the two former lids.

Also you are correct on the shell sizing, if you do not get to the desiered comfort post break-in you can always swap the comfort liner.

As far as your local guy goes, support the heck out of him. I give him a lot for credit for stocking such a high-end product. We 100% have out Philly contingent that supports us locally. The internet is a different animal altogether.

Best,

Anthony

Hey Katego,

The headhape is going to be slightly less round than a Quantum 2. More along the lines of an Arai RX-Q vs the Quantum two.

Also there is a Schuberth C3W Helmet which will begin shipping in a few weeks and it is basically a C3 with a slightly different internal shape based around ergonomic studies that L'oreal conducted around womens head shape, jaw line and cheekbone structure.

If you are in the market for the C3 it may make sense to wait a few more weeks.

Anthony
