I'm wiring up an accessory outlet to power my BMW heated vest. The outlet will be wired directly to the battery and I've bought a blade type in-line fuse holder for the positive lead.
However, I don't know how much current the vest is drawing and so am unsure of what amperage fuse to use. The vest doesn't have any specs listed on it, I've lost the documentation that came with it and I can't find any specs online for it.
This vest is about 4 years old and is the blue/gray style with the collar (BMW also made another heated vest then without collar).
I know I could start with very low amp fuses, plug in the vest, and let 'em blow until as I add progressively higher rated fuses, but would prefer not to waste good fuses.
BTW, unfortunately, I do not have a voltmeter here.
