Looking for a ford - Albany, Western Australia
The plan was to find a track through the Redmond State Forest, that forded the Hay River and would take us to the Mt Lindesay area. These roads/tracks are in the forests northwest of Albany and north of Denmark.
Andreas (650 XC), John (F800 GS), Bosch (Husky 610), Mark (DR650) and I (650 Dakar) rode out to Torbay & met up with Adrian (640 Adv) before heading north towards the state forests. ![]() Is this the right track into the forest? ![]() I'm sure this is the track ![]() My iPhone says we go up this track ![]() I think we're on the wrong track ![]() Well, at least we know it's not that way ![]() Haven't we been through this puddle? ![]() I'm sure it wasn't this greasy the first time we came through ![]() The ford was much easier to cross than to find ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Stopping for another chat ![]() And noticing that, despite coming from Wales, Adrian has the word SCOTT embossed on his forehead. ![]() We came out of the forest to skirt some farmland and had a ball on Nutcracker Rd before hitting Mt Lindesay Rd. I didn't get many pics of the most challenging & enjoyable sections as I was somewhat preoccupied through there. We hit the tar again at Scotsdale Road and then found some back roads up to Mt Shadforth Rd where we found the Southern End - an ideal spot for a 'debrief'. ![]() We all agreed the tracks were in prime condition, some recent rain meant the sand was still damp and firm, not much dust on the gravel and the wet sections were much easier than usual. A great afternoon's ride and only about a 60km ride home. Thanks to John for some of the pics.

Good one Dave. Nice tracks, enjoyable company and a good selection of motorcycle models. I'd ride any one of them but probably would'nt take a top box.

Tracks look in mint condition, we could do with some rain up here to settle ours down a bit. Looking forward to seeing you at the beerfest Dave, hope you're bringing the dog, chicks dig dogs.

Did we get lost that many times........ Jeeeesus, what a bunch of turkeys
Cardinal sin there Dave - although I had Scott imprinted on my forehead, I actually hail from Yorkshire. You should have guessed by the way I got Richo to buy me a beer and a pint at that, none of them poofy schooners. Good job on the pictures mate. |

Ewe must be kidding, too old mate, now if we'd done the ride a month ago
Now how does that joke go:Posh lady wants to sh%g a virgin, Aussie ringer gets the nod. " You sure you've never slept with a woman before" she says. "Nope" says the ringer, who proceeds to clear the room. "What are you doing" says the woman. "Well" says the ringer I ain't never sh%ged a woman before, but if it's anything like roos, I need all the room I can get...... Richo, the beers are on me
