Been riding in the SRC for a few weeks now, shot the video today and will be rolling it out shortly. It's in post.

Actually showed a full install (which takes about 90 seconds) on the video to be released soon and went over the features at a high level with my overall opinion.

I found the functioning of the SRC to be very consistent much closer to the G4 than to the now antiquated Cardo Q2.

The perfect OEM fit of the SRC vs the bolt on feel of any other unit is a real nicety. The only down side, besides the price of the SRC is that the range is diminished for bike-to-bike, but 1000ft or 5000ft for me doesn't come into play that much as I typically like to ride in a close stagger on long rides with buddies.

Also I find that the SRC and the removable leather chin curtain don't play well together, but that may be a factor of my more long oval head shape. Folks with slightly rounder head shapes may have more clearance int he front.

I went for another 4 hour ride today and the SRC works as usual!!! The only thing I really don't like about the SRC is the USB power cable ... it would have been nice if they could have build a weatherized usb port on the unit itself and then when charging was necessary, just remove weather port protection and plug it in!

I agree Shane. The device is very compact but the extra "tail" would have been awesome if it retracted or was some how flush without the cord.

I guess we agree on ways in which the device in its next generation can be improved.

Hey Guys,

As promised, here is Revzilla's video overview, opinion and install of the Schuberth SRC Bluetooth System.

I left out some of the range, battery and pairing specs, which are easy bullets to absorb in the product details.

Remember there are two sizes of SRC depending on the size Schuberth lid you have. Also there is a similarly functional but different unit SRC for the C2 / Concept.

My feedback to date:

Pro's:

Integrated and streamlined to ensure quiet is maintained and aerodynamics remain unfettered
Ear cutouts are roomy enough to accomodate speaker install with no change in comfort
Amazingly easy install - 5 minutes.
Works as well as the G4 95% of time(see below)

Cons:

Less Range than the Cardo G4 (no external antenna)
Radio is just ok (no antenna again)
Fixed length boom mic *can* crowd the front of the helmet depending on your face shape. For me I just took out the extra chin curtain and was fine.
Smaller buttons can be tough with winter gloves
USB cord needs to be tucked or managed, but is not a deal breaker. Would be easier with a flush mount.

I really like my C3 and the SRC-System. The only thing that would make it AWESOME would be if they had an option to allow me to use my custom molded ear buds instead of speakers.

There isn't much room for speakers in the C3. The ones that come with the SRC are very, very THIN! The previous BT headset I was using was the JMCorp BT and the speakers that came with it were very uncomfortable.

So if the speakers are very thin, they will work fine!

I actually don't have any experience with the Chatterboxes on the Schuberth. Great question. Wondering if anyone can jump in here that has gone down that path.

Hey Bang,

The C3W was pushed a bit. They are currently looking to be Feb or March of 2011.

Will keep everyone posted as we get closer.

I wear an medium Arai Profile and found that the medium Schuberth that I tried at the Seattle motorcycle show fit nicely.
When will the carbon fibre model be available and will it be the same price?
