OK, pop quiz: Will you be taking the 950... or the 525?!?!

Hmm... upon further reflection, I've seen how Riceless rides his 950, so maybe it's not a very revealing question after all...

Let's see if anyone else wants to join. Anyone?

Another Noob

Hey,
I'd be up for Saturday or Sunday. I've got a Husky with about 150 miles that I'm shaking down as well. Its been about 15 years since I've had a dirt bike, so I'm pretty green. I live down at the I15 I91 intersection. How far up the 15 is the Sierra exit (Just moved out here so don't know my way around yet) No trailer for bike so gonna have to ride. If its not ridiculously far I'll just drive it on up....

Yet another noob

I'm still new to riding trails on a bike.. I'd love to know some good ones that are rideable this time of year. I'll be back in SoCal on Dec 3rd.

Yesterday was beautiful. A bit chilly in the morning, strong winds near the mouth of the Cajon Pass, but much calmer towards the top. I topped off at Sierra, then worked my way along fire/powerline roads all the way up to Baldy Mesa. Rode some OHV trails and semi-secret single trak across to Phelan, climbed some hills, then back to Summit Inn for 'lunch'.

So....
Anybody up for sunday?
I'd suggest staying away from the OHV / green-sticker areas (Cleghorn, Baldy Mesa, Silverwood) on a big weekend. Too much squidly traffic. Almost got taken out twice on Cleghorn yesterday. Sunday might be a zoo. There's plenty of street-legal only fire roads to follow instead.

Dang Errin! You still lurking around here?
What'll it take to get you to bust out the 990 one more time?

Just gettin' back my friend. I took the mighty 990 up to Ojai for breakfast today. Up the coast and then through the back-roads of Santa Paula/Fillmore. Felt pretty good, except my foot hurt like hell in my new Sidis. 200 miles was about all I could bear.

Damn, you are right about the choppiness of the fuel injection. I was riding low and slow today, and it was makin' me wish I had some carbs!

Thanks again for everything Matt.

My bike's down right now... Friggin' sheared bolts on the front brake rotor carrier... But I WILL fix it tomorrow, come heck or high water.
