Question Airhead - Need Clarification:Wheel bearing parts - What order?

1981 R100RS

I had the wheel bearings pulled on both front and back on my 1981 snowflakes at a local shop.
I got a bag of the old parts, actual separated bags fonr and rear...thoughtful of them.

Anyhow, I got all the parts cleaned up and new bearings and seals. Ready to have them pressed back in after the wheels have been painted.

Looking at the MAXBMW parts fische (below)
on the rear I'm trying to figure what #3 is but I think it's the other seal.
I figure left to right on the rear is:

3 -?
4 - top hat spacer
5 - bearing
6 - nylon colars
7 - center tube
10 - wedding ring spacer
5 - bearing
8 - seal
9 - top hat spacer

On the FRONT I see the top hats interior of the seals and exterior of the bearings, with the flat collar facing the interior.

But on the REAR it shows the tophat's facing the opposite direction(s) and exterior of the seals...???

Is this right? Please advise.
Note this is a 1981 R100.

Generally the fische show direction of assembly, if that hold true as it usually does, then it's dead on.

Question

I smell an anchovie in the soup.

This pic is from BMWMOA and he shows the tophat compression rings facing the opposite direction...and it doesn't show the plastic spacers on the center tube either.

FRONT FISCHIES...

In the first picture 3 should be the seal that you see on the spline side of the wheel, generally not removed, I assume, as it is peened into the wheel, or hub

I have the rear bearings out of my bike, still in order, would you like a picture?

The "top-hat" spacers-more accurately, thrust sleeves-should be installed with their wider section o the inside of the seals. The 'fiche isn't really wrong-from '70 to about '76, the left rear thrust sleeve was installed the other way 'round.

The picture from The 'MOA does show the plastic sleeves; they are mounted on the inner spacer.

A cautionary note: Three of the seals and thrust sleeves are identical. the right rear seal and sleeve are narrower.

It goes inside the seal, as I said above: "The "top-hat" spacers-more accurately, thrust sleeves-should be installed with their wider section on the inside of the seals. The 'fiche isn't really wrong-from '70 to about '76, the left rear thrust sleeve was installed the other way 'round."

To further clarify, when the left rear thrust sleeve was installed on the outside of the seal, it was because /5s had a hubcap which would retain the thrust sleeve when the wheel was removed. When the '74s arrived, they had no hubcap, but BMW continued installing the 'sleeve on the outside. Many were misplaced or dropped in the dirt, so they finally began installing them on the inside, and continued to until the end of this wheel design.

BMW /6 wheel bearing stack.

I cannot remember the original source for this picture. Sorry to that person.

edit: Duane Ausherman. http://w6rec.com/duane/bmw/wheel_bearing/index.htm

It's for the /6 so may not help you much for the 1981 model, but if anyone has a /6, it might be of use.

Later 17mm axle...

The assemblies are very similar. The 5-Bolt seal holder was superseded by a larger seal, and the ribbed inner spacer was superseded by the straight tube with slip-fit plastic rings. This made the assembly easier to service and less expensive to build; A rare turn of events.
