Short ride to VAlle Nevado on Christmas Eve
We moved to Chile with our 1-year old baby girl which is the first grandchild. Needless to say, come Christmas the in-laws are visiting for Christmas. My father in law (Massimo) has been riding bike for over 40 years, so I decide to treat him to a ride up the Andes on Christmas Eve.
I talk to my BMW dealer (I bought my F800 from them) and ask him to lend me a R1200GS for the day. I had just come back from a 500Km BMW Year End ride and was eager to try the R1200GS. So here we are: I got the R1200GS loaner and let Massimo ride my F800GS. We head off into the Andes ![]() On our way up there are the most incredible twisties. Massimo really tears through the twisties and I hav eto push myself on the R1200GS to keep up with him. I am getting used to the bike but am loving it... ![]() We try to get as much dirt as possible... ![]() ![]() Our way up to the ski slopes (closed during the summer) is a wonderful mountain road with amazing twisties. The way up here is a series of 45 switchbacks ![]() Until we finally get to the fun part: ![]() ![]() ![]() The ride was short but sweet. Massimo had not ridden offroad before but did OK. I really enjoyed riding the R1200GS and we got a chance to enjoy a nice ride on Christmnas Eve.
