Meh. It's the Dakar as we all know it.
She'll be bolted & plastered together nicely, I reckon. Bones heal relatively quick, but tendons and ligaments need longer rehab periods and proper training. I suggest my 5 knee-bolts and her assumed bone-bolt-job qualify for exclusive Bionic Riders Rehab Club (BRRC) membership. My job at least don't trigger security alarms at airports, but I miss a watercooled knee when it starts swelling. A WD40 lubrication valve also wouldn't hurt the periodic squeaky knees I occasionally suffer. Oi there, Jen --> Good luck with surgery!

Yup - attached to a fan-cooled device. I foresee a glittering market potensiale for Adv-Rider & Dakar rider spare parts and support technology. When my knee starts acting up I would ideally hog the spare parts bin from my F650 Dakar and adapt something like this zerk contraption:
![]() Alternatively this: ![]() Jenny's setup may of course differ somewhat - depending on the overhaul she now gets. No reason to despair yet

Stay focused!
Jenny, Use the same drive and determination that got you through the various stages of the Dakar (and inspired all of us) and apply it to your recovery effort. While it may seem dismal now, soon this will be just another one of your war stories. And thank you again Katie Em for keeping us informed. Keep us updated on the recovery!

I say throw Piglet in either Bounds or Pavey's backpack. Get Piglet to the finish line and get that finishers medal. Piglet is listed as Co-Diver isn't he?
Go Piglet! JMo, when you get back to America, steak and beer is on me. Of course, I will ask a millions questions about Dakar.

Having surgery in a foriegn country is very traumatic. Let's have positive thoughts and meditations for her. Good luck Jenny.
