I took the plunge and bought one yesterday at the IMS show here in the Detroit area. I measure 63cm with a round profile, and the XXL fit perfectly. I've never had a helmet that fit so well all over before. It's just a little snug, but that'll break in after awhile. I'm impressed with the whole package.

Hey DF,

Just got back to Philadelphia. I was actually out in Orange County CA with Schuberth on Friday. Pretty cool that things seem to be going to well for them in the states so far. They have a great team.

With regard to VOX function. You are correct, the system does not DL your address book. You can speak to answer a call or speak to initiate a discussion via intercom if you are paired.

I use mine with my iPhone 4 and if I hit the Voice Command button I can speak into the speaker to say "Call Mom" etc and it will work well. I just can voice activate the voice dialing. The peripheral you are using has to be set up for voice dialing.

I actually know a lot of users of BT devices which run them through their nav units and pair their peripherals to their nav's for ease of use and connectivity - as well as having a heads up display. The SRC if you desire can be used the same way.

It seems like the Parrott has more functionality as a "brain".

I am not, however, super familiar with the your specific Parrott nor have I used it myself.

Hi all,

it seems the Schuberth sizes run EXACTLY to the chart.

Mine arrived and I sent it back immediately:

My size is 58-59 (L), but ordered a XL on recommendation of the Revzilla guys. Reading ttpete's experience, I am pretty sure the L will fit me perfect.

Maybe, your (guys from Revzilla) experience is different with other helmets or you are used to have a helmet that feels "looser"??

I could have made it fit with some foam, etc. but for one it would interfer with the Schuberth ventilation system and second, if I pay that money for a helmet, I certainly want it to fit perfectly....

The only time I would recommend to go up in size is when you cross over on your head size, e.g. 59 is squeezing the tape onto your head, 60 is coming loose - go for the XL.
As long as you still can slide the tape a little bit, stick with the size indicated by the Schuberth-chart....

I will stick with the Schuberth however, the helmet is awesome!

Will report back when I get the L.....

My head is 58 cm and Anthony suggested an XL because my Arai RX-Q large is snug. Tried on a large at NY IMS and it fit perfectly.

I've been using the SRC for about a month and honestly, am not that impressed with it other than how nicely it integrates in the helmet. It connects just fine and manages those connections well. But the helmet speakers are terrible and even at full volume I can't hear the Zumo 665 over 50mph. I almost never use the phone on the bike, although I can, but the mic boom is a PIA when combined with the flip up chin. I'm tempted to (which means probably) remove it and just use my custom in ear buds and forgo phone integration.

We have an eta on the high vis yet? Last I heard was 'Spring' and since New Belgium Brewing company is touting their vernal ale here in ATL it must be soon.

I'll never know, because the last thing I want to do when riding is to answer a phone or listen to the radio. It detracts from the experience. And I ride solo for the same reason.

when the riding gets technical the music goes off. but on long boring hauls it helps to pass the time. it's also nice having turn by turn directions when on unfamiliar road.

Hey Marty,

It's interesting to hear your having issues with the speakers, I am guessing you already played with their placement. Hmm keep us on the thread posted.

I have had Q2's in the past and have a G4 on my other setup and I find the speaker setup comparative with what I expected.

The Boom and chin curtain playing with each other is par for the course on this one. I think the big hurdle for thins "integrated" system was to have the SRC not hinder the seal and overall quiet of the helmet, so you have a compact boom that needs to fit snugly inside the curtain without compromising it.

I end up taking an extra moment to readjust the boom after I put the C3 on just to ensure its in the right place, it is a tight squeeze but everyone's clearance will be different based on the depth front to back of their head. If it really is that tight for you I could see how it could become a nuisance.

Interested to hear your ongoing feedback.

versus the RF-1000

Anthony - This thread has been a huge help!

It is time to retire my RF-1000. I like the helmet, but want to move to a modular - I think. Two questions: How does the quite compare between the RF-1000 and the C3?

I am running a wired Autocom system for voice and audio. I am not using the helmet speakers in the 1000, I have custom ear buds for the audio (yep, like others posting here, I only listen to music on those long, boring stretches - when it starts getting fun, off goes da music) and use the Autocom boom for the voice part (bike to bike talk - no phone yack on a bike in motion!). It seems some folks are concerned about clearance of the boom. What kind of issue is this really? I am OK with the idea that the boom will be hanging out there when you flip the front up, but is the chin part so close that the VOX activated voice part is going to let my riding partner know every time I take a breath?

Hey R2L,

Thanks for the nod. The Schuberth line is so technical, the hope is to, at a minimum, make sure folks have the right information whether they buy online from us or not. The C3 is a lot of helmet, but is quite an investment. I'm also a huge gear geek, so I don't mind furthering this type of discussion.

Regarding quiet, I am not sure what the exact specs are on the RF-1000 although I have had a 1000 for years now and it still has a slot on my helmet wall. I will say that the C3 is the most quiet helmet I own out of all 9 that I am currently rotating (RX-Q, C3, RF-1100, RF-1000, Qwest, AX-8 DS, RSR2, RPS-10, Bell Star). You really feel encapsulated with both the fit and the quiet.

I will say that is is a SNUG fit. For me its all about fit when the chinbar is down. With it up, you are right, it's an obvious non issue.

I have the most success with placing the boom just below my lower lip. It's more comfortable than in front of my lips and I find there is less "clipping" when I am speaking loudly at speed (better clarity for the party I am speaking with).

As far as the vox is concerned, I have never had the issue of it being overly sensitive, if anything I usually have to consciously make a loud noise for a few seconds for the vox to activate at speeds north of 60mph. Under 60mph you should still not have a sensitivity issue.

Does anyone else following this thread have an experience which is different? I will note that my head shape is medium to long oval and I am the top end of a medium size C3. I may have less clearance in front than others.

Have you read any reviews from folks who have installed the Autocom on a C3? I am sure you are not the first.

I am going to hit the old googles myself just out of curiosity....
