A Ride near Georgetown CA

I have been enjoying all your ride reports for quite a while so I thought it was time to contribute one. This is a ride that I have done many times. The Beta is ready but thirsty..

I ride about 10 miles and Gas up in Coloma. This pic was taken near Garden Valley.

There is a Park at the intersection of Meadowbrook and Bear Creek roads where there is a belt of Serpentine Rock. Notice the Green Rock in the background. Some nice hiking here but no OHV trails.

Onwards to the dirt! The pavement ends along Bear Creek road and the first true dirt begins at Grey Eagle Road. The picture below is taken at the west end of Grey Eagle road.

Grey Eagle Road Ends at Darling Ridge Road which is shown below. Darling Ridge is a nice street bike road, single lane, tight, twisty and no traffic.

A ways down Darling ridge road the single track begins.

This is part of the Rock Creek OHV area. Since it has not rained for a week or so, the western and eastern sides are open, this is my backyard.

Somewhere along trail 1 towards the Mace Mill Staging Area

Small Creek Crossing,

Mace Mill Staging Area, it is not a bad place to camp and its free. There are many trails all around.

I take a small connector trail down to Rock Creek Road. Rock Creek Road is a good road for larger ADV bikes. I take trails 8, 9 and 10 up to Bald Mountain Lookout.

This is the beginning of a little connector trail off trail 9

This is a nice spot to stop and take in the view. It's near bald mountain lookout.

Bald Mountain Lookout is about 2 miles off of Wentworth Springs Road. It's accessible on a street bike but involves some dirt road.

These are views from the top of another mountain (I think it is called Balarat Mountain) along Trail 1

Who is that old Fart?

This is a gnarly bit of trail 1, it's more intimidating in real life .

This is an old Gold Mine along Trail 6. Check out the mini rail tracks.

Looks like the local Nazis tagged this old shack by the mine.

Another Gold Mine with a little water flowing out of it.

A nice pond in Swansboro along Mosquito Road

This Bridge crosses the South Fork of the American River on Mosquito Road. Mosquito road is a real tight twisty road, fun on any bike, but watch out for the local drivers.

Mosquito road ends in Placerville and from there it is a short ride home. That completes the ride!

Cool RR thanks
"Quote" The advantage of the rain is that, if you have a quick bike, there's no advantage.
