Another weekend ride in the Chilean Andes

So I went back to Lagunillas, but this time with a friend, so we went all the way to the summit. The track that goes to the left is what we did today and it leads to the summit at 2515m or 8300ft. The track that goes to the right is what I did last timeon my solo ride and it leads to the antennas:

If you look closely you can see in the far mountan range the track of our trip to Lagunas del Viento which I reported on a couple of weeks ago.

The way to the summit has no tracks so we had to freestyle it

Finally, after making some wrong choices, falling (sorry no pics) and getting stuck on the loose dirt we made itto the summit, marked by the cross:

This next picture is with the camera set on the cross :

And the views from the top:

You don't see too many plated bikes up around here

This where I stopped and turned around last time as I didn't want to go up past the rocks without knowing if I could urn around by myself:

Weekend in the Chilean Andes

Looks awesome, and quite a challenge. Being able to ride just free form where no tracks exist is a rare pleasure in a lot of areas, must feel great. Thanks for posting up and showing us a corner of your world!

Thanks for your comments. I'm glad you like the pictures. I'm trying to ride every weekend during my stay in Chile. In 5 months I'll be gone to Panama, for a whole different kind of riding
