Quick blast north of Sydney

This is one of my favourite ways to spend a few spare hours; from Epping its a 4 hour loop north of Sydney. The off-road part described here is 90km, of which 90% is dirt; takes a couple of hours without stops. It has some intermediate-level riding on the Burralow section especially after rain, and some sandy sections along Wheelbarrow ridge; overall I'd rate it easy to medium. I'd welcome suggestions to add to this ride too...

Start on the Bells Line of Road at Kurrajong Heights. Take the left into Warks Hill Rd then left again at the top of the hill into Burralow.

Riding in to Burralow:

The rainforest section is very pleasant on the downhill

Cross the little bridge at the bottom then climb up to Bilpin

Once you re-join Bells Line of Rd, head west for a few kms then turn right into Mountain Lagoon Rd. This used to be quite badly eroded (= challenging) but its recently been graded so is an easy roll through some nice bushland. Mostly dirt.

At the end of this road, take a left down to the Colo.

Great views on the way down - don't go over the edge!

Its a long way down!

At the bottom take a right towards the Putty Rd, but after a km or two take a left over the bridge over the Colo River.

Climb up to the Putty Rd. Nice views and corners along the way. Turn right then within a km turn left into Wheelbarrow Ridge rd.

Follow this for some time; 2km after the sharp right (warning sign) turn left into Wheelbarrow Ridge track. If you miss it you will go down to the river, where you can turn left to continue, but I prefer to ride the track along the top of the ridge.

Eventually you get to the end, where you turn left to go around to the Webb Ck ferry and home.

If you haven't done this already, its a pleasant adventure. Anyone want to add to the route suggestions?
