Daddy Daughter Ride on the Uly Feb 13th

Well I picked her up at her mom's house in Margate at or about 11:30am. We drove down Jersey on the parkway for awhile till we hung a right into Marmora. She was screaming at every turn. Stopped to top off some fuel and get coffee and hot chocolate. Then the fun began. We drove back streets through the southern Pine Barrens 'till we hit Belleplain State forest. The roads there are crowned, banking, pot hole ridden, and well Our signal if everything is OK is either thumbs up or thumbs down. She never brought the thumb down and we were just laughing and yahooin' it up. We almost drove into two red tailed hawks at different parts of the day and also had to crawl past past four horseback riders. We ended up out in Maurice River, at the diner there. I had a fat cheesburger, she had the French onion soup and we split a side of cheese fries. As I watched her talk and I listened , I could not help realize that days like these are numbered and I sat back as my little girl talked to her father like we were the only two in the joint. We took the most direct route home and she thanked me for the day and my wife got a quick picture before I put the bike away. What a day for this old man.......
I took the road less traveled and it has made all the difference

Good to see a helmet & good jacket.

These times fly by quickly, make them count. Soon she'll want her own bike.

Glad you two had fun. Looks like there will be many more. Nothing like riding with our kids.
