Can you say cheap? $260 BMW Airhead R65LS

So just as I was about to go to bed and get a good nights sleep I decided to check if any cool motorcycles had popped up on craigslist. Guess what I see?
BMW 650, - $250

No year, no model, out of DMV, and the standard "needs carbs cleaned and battery" Ad had only been up for 20 minutes. Called up the number but the seller had little information other then it has two carbs, might be a 1992 and have R in the model name. Hmm sounds like an R65? Whatever $250 BMW I will take it tonight!

Did I mention that I was completely exhausted from a long work week with little sleep, feel a cold coming on, going to Las Vegas in the morning for the weekend, the bike was 50 miles away and it's raining?

And it was all worth it for this!

Only hand $20 bills so I told the guy to keep the extra $10 plus he helped me load it. I am so excited and plan to celebrate my going to sleep right now.

fun bikes!! What a deal!! I had one that I rode for years, a red one with the white wheels, I always thought they were really good looking bikes, also one of the best handling older boxers, all they really need are progressive fork springs and some better rear shocks.
I even did track schools with mine!

Title would be good, but in most places, a bill of sale is about all you need.

But a title is nice. There are ways..

I HOPE you blew off going to Vegas! It's grim and rainy here today. WHAT A DEAL!! Nice if you get in running, but even parting it out (a crime, but justifiable if the engine is seized), you are way ahead.
Cheers,
Jim, who is NOT going flying and NOT going riding today.

Dude, they didn't build all those fancy casinos on the WINNINGS of the patrons. Lots of locals gamble.... buying lottery tickets in CA!

You are one lucky SOB. I am constantly scanning Cragslist for deals, and do find some. But not like that one. I congradulate you on your new project. Let us know how it goes.
