after 2 days of heavy rain, sunday morning was looking great.

lior staged from my house and we rode together to meet the rest of the pucks.

lior kept me entertained on the way to 7-11; and he kept it that way for at least 100 yards

oh yeah, the familiar spot!

small, med and big dual sport bikes

the water at little t was pretty much gone

this canyon never bores me...

i learned a lot of pavement riding just from coming here every month

at 9am, the temp was still cold

i'm sure everyone knows the price of gas is creeping up

nice and shiny 2010 adv...someone ought to post a pic of ersin's bike after today's ride.

and the snow capped mountains (@ 5K feet) in the background, that's where we're going.....

staging area #1

met this adv rider and his name kept on eluding me....sorry

after staging area #1, it's just mud, mud, and mud

but we were blessed with an awesome sky

ok, bro...post up so we get to know you more...

at 3k ft. the snow was marginal

as we climbed up more...it's starting to look like xmas time

not this time ami...

sideway is ok just don't go down the side of the mountain

damn it....someone beat us to this trail...

too bad ami, it ain't a virgin anymore

surprise....it's rogue

Thanks Joel and gents. Sorry to bail early, I just didn't have the energy for mud and snow today. Played in some water crossings on the way to Castaic, though! See you when it dries out a bit.

chris, you could make it. we stayed on the main trail, no ice! the mud was shallow and manageable. and the snow was just fine, like riding on sand. your long legs are a plus. going off the off beaten and single track, that's already tough enough, and then add snow...results could be different as several guys learned the hard way.

that luggage is always full, though i don't need the shit for this ride, it has all the tools and spare parts to do the continental divide. you know, part of the preparation and training.

oh, the purse....have to leave the make up kit to make room for food and drinks. unlike the backpack, it keeps the weight low, easy on the back, and quick access to get things in and out.
