So Anthony, I've been saving up for a new helmet and the Wife is unaware of my Indulgence Funds. Can I pre-order and send you a check so she doesn't see the CC bill and know I've been holding out on her?

Hey Anthony...any further word as to when the C3 in Carbon Fiber might be coming over? I checked it out on Schuberth's website and it looks sick!

well, it's been a month since I posted up last. I've been on a weekend ride with the SRC and found it died after about 3 hours listening to XM music. The speakers still suck, even with moving them around. With foam earplugs in I can't hear them, without earplugs it's too noisy. Yes, I know this is a "quiet" helmet, but that's all relative depending on the wind protection your bike gives.
I removed the SRC last night, put the chin curtain back in and am going back to my custom molded ear buds from BigEar for longer rides. For commuting I'll back to enjoying the rumble of the motor. Marty Quote:

Hey Douglas,
Right now its a no-go on the Carbon Fiber. I think it would be a G if it made it to the states and for the amount they could sell, I think the DOT cert could be cost prohibitive - but you never know. If it hits my radar you will all know first. Anthony

Damn Marty,
I am very sorry to hear that you are not having a good experience with the SRC. I am going to check into the battery issue and find out if that is normal. I do appreciate you acknowledging the "quiet" as compared to everyone's different setup. Anthony Quote:

SRC or Ear Buds
Hmmm... I was thinking of going away from my BigEars custom earbuds because earwax buildup has caused them to fail < 13 months - L & R volume and bass tones are not equal - drives one nuts! So I was looking into this SRC system for my Schuberth C2 but with the experience from Marty I am not so sure I will be satisfied. Anyone with good experiences? Could Marty just have had a bad SRC?

While on tour last year in Africa, I was streaming MP3 music from my zumo GPS for about 3-4hrs a day. Charge usually lasted two days with the SRC on all of the time (~8hrs/day).

Hi-Viz in XL pre-ordered. The color is certainly hard on the eyes, but with the helmet on my head I won't have to see it!

New Schuberth C3 - First Impressions
Picked up a new Schuberth C3 (Medium, matte black, w/bluetooth com) at the Greenville motorcycle show.
First impressions: Quieter on my R1200GS (stock windshield + Tourtech spoiler) than my 5 yr old Shoei. Still need earplugs. Com system's sound level is okay w/earplugs, but wish it were a bit louder. "Quality" is good for GPS voice commands & cell phone, but poor for music. No bass, but it sounds better than I do. Love the flip-down shade. Overall, was it worth $1000? Sure, you only live once, and I haven't found anything better. And, of course, it makes me look cool as heck.

Hey fellow Schuberth Geeks, ( I say that with pride)
The Schuberth C3W is now shipping and the C3 Hi-Viz will be any minute. In the meantime, I got my hands on them and shot some brief overview vids highlighting the key differences. All questions welcome. Anthony Schuberth C3 Hi-Vis Helmet Schuberth C3W Helmet (Womens Specific)
