Question I need some suggestions...

Well, I am starting to get the gear together. Does anyone have suggestions on where to purchase jackets, pants, and boots? I need to know locations around Cherryville, NC and from Greenville, SC and Concord, NC and anywhere in between.

I am not sure exactly what size stuff I wear, so I need a place that has lots of choices, so I can try on stuff.

Also, do the ladies out there find it better to purchase men's jackets and / or pants?

I hope putting this question here is OK, I just felt the "local region" would know better than the entire forum.

Thanks for your help as I am beginning to get my riding attire together.

Hugs,

Pengy / SistaWoods

Olympia has ladies gear and they are headquartered in Hendersonville, NC. I don't know if they sell direct, but if not I bet if you contact their Customer Service Dept. they can put you in touch with dealers in your area.

Update - I just took a look at their FAQ page and noticed that they will sell direct if there is not a dealer near you or if your local dealer is not willing to special order for you. They are a good company and their customer service is top notch. I have some Airglide pants, damaged in a get-off, and they sent me some material needed for repairs free of charge.

Great customer service - easy online ordering and order tracking. Free shipping if you buy $100. Otherwise, just $7 shipping per order for 3-day UPS. Got the wrong size? You can return the 1st order and they pay for shipping (if I understand correctly).

Check out the "Closeouts". I just ordered a $159 jacket for $69 (last year's style - whoopie!) Great prices on tires, too.

Talking Greenville,sc

Powersports in Greenville has a pretty good selection of Olympia riding gear. There is also a Cyclegear store next door to it. They are having a close out sale on some of gear.
SPORT TOURING OF Greenville has a decent selection (though a bit pricey) of some high end stuff

I'm not sure how close they are to you but they might be worth a day trip. I've been doing mail order with them for a couple of years and their prices are very good and they're a good bunch to deal with. They also have retail outlets.

+1 on the Tellico Outfitters recommendations. Mike is a super guy. Even if you find something local, give him a call to compare pricing, shipping, etc.

Also, keep an eye on the Flea Market Gear section. You can get some great deals there, and if you buy something and it doesn't fit, it's usually only going to cost you a few bucks lost on shipping to resell it.

HERE!! You are right next to Rock hill and they have a huge supply of stuff to try on.

Also try your local Cycle Gear stores. One in Matthews and Gastonia.
