Gettin' out of the snow.....

I was able to get out of the snow and head south for a week last month.
I trailered the GS to Globe, Arizona. I was able to leave the truck at a hotel by arranging to stay there on the way home.
I hadn't been on the bike since early December. After driving in the truck for 7 hours I loaded up the bike for the final 120 miles south to Tucson.

I arrived at Old Tucson close to the end of the day. Stopped at the pass looking south.

Got a little hike in after I set up camp.

I set up camp in Old Tucson and did some exploring for a few days.

Got up to Kitt Peak. Fun road. Amazing structures.

Found a nice spot along one of the rides through the park.

Stopped in Tombstone on one of the rides..

I had great weather with hi's in the 70's and lows in the 40's. Got a little windy the last night and I just made it back to Globe before the storm hit. Got rained on the last 20 miles.

Till next time.....adios.

Thanks for sharing. Great photos

After spending several weeks in Baja last year I had the pleasure of riding around the Tucson area for a few days before flying home.

Frank, from ZMW Adventures in Tucson, gave me a great guided tour of some very nice backroads. Truthfully, it felt like I had never left Baja. Beautiful scenery and little to no traffic (at least on the roads we were on) and great 'rest stops'. I would love to make it back and tour the area while camping...just not sure about those desert nites.

Shameless plug for ZMW's. If you are ever in Tucson and need anything for your bike Frank is the guy to see. Tires, wrenching, advise on routes...anything. He'll set you up right.

Thanks for looking, guys.
Tom-These structures are all over the Saquara NP area. Maybe built in the 1930's, CCC???
The pic above is just a restroom. The others are one or two room and are probably a nice place to get out of the sun.
The pic below is from inside of one looking at another.
These are both at the pass south of town along Speedway.

This one is along the dirt road on the west side of Saquara NP.

Same stone structure, wide view showing all the local cactus.
