Great pix, thanks for sharing. I'm going to Baja next month on the R1150 GSA-as a dirt noobie it looks like I won't be going to Mike's!

You'll Be Fine.

Go to Mike’s, it’s a great ride and a cool place. Nothing too difficult actually. It was just cold, rainy and muddy when we went. I can’t wait to go back!

It turns out that most of the service/personal vehicles that go back and forth are not four wheel drive. You won’t have a problem.

Yeah, what he said. You will be OK on that bike. It would be a shame to get near the place and not visit, if even for a few hours.

What happened to the roof over the patio by the pool?

I have no idea, it was our first time there. You're not the first to mention that.

Hey guys,
I was at Mikes the second weekend in Feb. The weekend prior, a huge wind storm blew through and removed the roof. It wound up quite a ways up the hill behind the rooms. The mangled remains were setting on the ground behind the lower rooms. The guys I was there with (gobajariding.com) were there when it happened. They were in the bar, and the roof of the bar was jumping up and down too. Pretty wild night at Mikes.

That was the weekend of the Desert Dash. I made it up to Descanso and had to turn around because I was pitifully unprepared in my leg and foot protection from the rain @ 35*.

Way to motivate and not stop. Nothing like warming up with a good Mike's Steak, drinks from the bar and a warm room by diesel heaters.

The ride to Mike's is great even on a big bike. Done it a bunch of times in good and bad conditions. Go!!!
