Do you see this smilie I was awarded that smilie years ago in recognition of my incredible computer skills or rather lack of them. I am a "Luddite" I admit it, I have never claimed to be anything else.

I "am" one of those people who does have difficulty with all things electronic and have no problem with saying so. That is precisely WHY I made this deal after being told I could pay for the product with a personal check. Is it really that hard to understand?

It's cool that he didn't want to use PayPal, that's why I offered that a check would be fine. Where this went pear-shaped was over the lack of agreement to the simple sale terms. The same couple of terms on the PayPal shopping cart invoice.

Look. We are dancing around here. There exists a "device" called a "click-thru" as in:


"I understand this thing I'm paying for is a POS and I can't return it for any reason and BTW my own mother is a $2 whore". If ya don't click you can't buy. Fairly effective and certainly uniform. Something business-people and their lawyers like.

The paypal screen for this device acted as a click-thru. (Although it was worded differently, the point was largely the same.) Everybody clicked. Everybody waived whatever jj and poolside wanted them to waive. Everybody except this dude, or maybe even this dude. At least he thinks he agreed. I have no idea.

Dude's,.... in a society as letigious as yours I don't blame poolside one bit for the Paypal only route. He should have stuck to his guns as originally advised but he's likely a fuckiniceguy. I don't read the fineprint but I am sure they have a beaut of a coveryourassclaus that is a great insulator for this kind of sale.

Pick up a copy of the OVAD and read some emphatic CYA. It's necessary to CoverOnesAss no matter how good or bad a product is.

Gotta thank the folks that help us make things better and not penalize them for protecting themselves.

And isn't this a pretty sad state of affairs, that folks are so fearful of a fucking lawyer getting involved for the sum of $72.50 including shipping that a situation like this comes to pass. I am dead serious here, what ever happened to a mans word being a contract especially when its backed up by posts in this thread, emails and PM's.

I am glad I am as old as I am, this brave new world and the way it operates is in a word BULLSHIT. When all of us old codgers shuffle off to the dirt nap I hope everyone will be happy with the lack of trust, honesty and integrity of the surreal world you'll be living in.

Not hard to understand at all.
But you know, this is an electronic part...kind of like a computer part. It has a jumper connection, wires and stuff.
Maybe it's for the best to stay away from parts like this since it is mostly an all thing electronic.

I have what is called an "EdgeEZ" on my diesel truck, it is electronic, it has settings adjustable by repositioning "jumpers", I have used it for close to 8 years with no problems. I have a"PowerCommandor" on one of my many bikes, it works, I have electronic ignitions on everything other then my old 1968 BSA Thunder Bolt,.........................

The problem here is not the product, what its claimed to do or who is selling it, the problem is the seller reneging on a deal after it was made. If the emails and PM's exchanged weren't enough to convince any reasonable person that I willfully accepted the conditions of the sale, I would not have made my first post as regards this situation. I do not have any objection to the emails and PM's being posted.

It's quite sad but necessary. Being technical by nature I have a company with insurance and sad ass employees that I have to charge big bucks for. Passing through my hands Poolside's wonder box would go out the door for around $500. See the dif?

Slowolddude(I need you as myfuckinlawyer) is right in saying if you don't have a clickthru you'd better have good insurancelawyersesxapeclauses cause we're all fooked.

Somethings just click for me, others don't, that's why if you read my earlier comments in this thread I asked if the product came with "idiot proof instructions". After reading what poolside and JJ posted and again being reassured by poolside in one of the emails concerning the purchase of this devise I went ahead with the deal.

I have always had a real problem with computers in particular, programs, fill in the blank forums that change from page to page or that I did something wrong on and have to start over again, etc. Simple things like plug&play wire connectors such as the EZ or PowerCommandor, have never given me a problem, that is the MAIN reason this devise appealed to me.
