Roo Whistles?
I did a search, but didn't turn up anything, so apologies if this has been covered before.
Does anyone out there run those roo whistle thingys? Got any feedback on whether they work or not? Ta. |

I have often wondered about one on a bike .Would it scare them into your path ect.
![]() We tried the electric ones of the back verandah and it did eventually move them on but I have personally found riding behind Phil Fong with his exhaust scaring the hell out of everything from cattle to small children much more effective.

Had a pair of shoo roos on a bike I owned a few years back.
No idea if they worked - but I never hit any roos (and I rode from London to Manchester a lot...) No, seriously, it was here in Vic and I ws often on roads with a bit of wildlife on 'em; but someone once suggsted that some deterants work better with greys than reds & vice versa. But fitting Shoo roos can't do any harm, can it?

fewer close calls with wildlife since i put my fmf exhaust on. That whistle thing i got stuck on my front guard never made any difference that i noticed but it cost me nothing so why not stick it on.
low frequency noise travels further and spreads more high frequency noise is very directional. greendudes theory exhaust lets em know your coming, whistle tells em where to look when you get close something i was told years ago by someone that knows roos always jump from cover to open ground so if theres trees on one side of the road and open paddock on the other at least you know which way there coming. greendude screwed with this post 04-21-2011 at 12:06 AM |

Just get of your bike and say Shooooooo! Then when they just stare at you like normal, pull out the 243, game over.
