It was pretty slow... 10mph tops. On pavement. Hard to remember.

Update on Holan shipments ?

On the way in, and should have been here by now. I still haven't received notification that they've cleared customs yet. At this point, I'm wondering if they're testing the chemical composition of them, and I'm monitoring eBay for bars that will conveniently be 'missing' from the shipment.

This is the longest we've waited for them to date. This is also the largest order for them we've ever done.

Go figure...

Right now? No - we're backordered.

They've been widely popular so far this year. In fact, despite placing the larger orders than we've ever placed before for them, we've been running behind for the last 2-3 months.

I'd suggest that if you want a set, place a pre-order on HolanUSA.com or F800Depot.com if you want to order some other F800 stuff with them.

I think I'm going to stop there as I'm getting close (if not already) over the Spam line.

Nothing yet - they're still in transit. I have a call about it now. They've been in transit now for longer than we've experienced from Holan. I should have an update today or Monday.

Just a quick FYI -- the design of these bars have been updated slightly. They now have an extra protection loop at the bottom and balance better side to side.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I just bought an F800GS and I need to get some crashbars before I go out there and do something stupid

Are people still as happy with their Holan's or are there "hot" alternatives that I should be looking at?

I like mine. some of the hardware they came with rusted up pretty quick, but they've held up to a few pretty good falls

I like my Holans, they've done what I bought them to do several times now.

But if were buying today, I'd take a serious gander at the AltRider bars. I saw them at the BMW Rally in Redmond, and they looked stout and yet not ugly and intrusive (like some I could mention, but won't).

Are the guys at Holan aware of this? ... Could these parts be swapped out, to avoid the problem?
