NC Insurance for KTM 200

Hey all:

I have a 2003 KTM 200 EXC that I have insured in NJ with Rider.. I relocated to NC with the military and even though NJ is still my state of legal residence, Rider won't insure the bike b/c I store and use it in NC and they do not cover NC.

I had a sweet policy with them $72 a year for liability on a dirt bike. What states are you all using for NC and what kind of rates are we talking ? I was going to hit up Progressive and possibly Geigo. Thanks a lot. Bob
"and if i fall, what happens ?"

I used progrssive through usaa and had decent rates.
WR300- It's not a "Sunday go to breakfast" bike.
Husky 2012 CR144, it doesn't go to breakfast either.

I recently shopped insurance a bit here in NC.
I have 2 bikes on the policy, 100/300/100 liability coverage along with uninsured/underinsured coverage.
First bike is 92 R100GSPD 2nd is 08 KTM 450- State Farm quoted $120 for 6 months, progressive was about the same, and today it is underwritten by Penn National- they were slightly cheaper (by about $20) but I can't remember the exact $....previously I had a policy with Southern Guaranty (for similar rate) but local agent dropped them & moved most everything to Penn National.
I thought that Flo would have hooked me up more considering that I also have a RV policy with them but they quoted higher....guess they gotta pay for the TV ads somehow From my experience I have not been able to get cycle coverage combined (aka discounted) with other vehicles.
Bottomline is I pay just under $200 a year for 2 bikes.

I may have you beat, but I have USAA insurance for my vehicles.

I have a 07 KTM 525EXC and a 2000 Honda VFR800 and I pay less than $50 a month for both o f them. And that is with an "at fault" accident, 2 years ago.

So, if you are active or prior service military family, you owe it to yourself to at least check out USAA.
