I drove to Atlanta on Friday and power was out through Guntersville and Albertsville and much of Boaz. Lots of damage in that direction. Came back on 231. South of Arab was devastated. I must have seen at least a hundred utility crews working to clean up the mess. All of Huntsville has power back today and things are starting to return to normal......at least for those of us whose homes where not destroyed. The people of Alabama should be proud of how they handled this huge disaster. |

OK let me put you out of your misery. I'll throw some photos into the mix to get the ball rolling.
I met Doug and Greg (nanno) last night in a bar in Linz (Austria). ![]() It was late and we were all tired but we had a wander around town. The Polizei were eyeballing us as we were all wearing black and staring into a big hole at a construction site around midnight. I can see how that might have looked weird ![]() ![]() Despite having a burger I mentioned that we should squeeze in a Leberkäse-Semmel from Leberkäse-Pepi. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leberk%C3%A4se All I can say is it's tasty as are most things in Austria. ![]() ![]() Doug stayed over at Greg's as I am a guest here also. This morning we met up again at Greg's garage where he bashes lumps of metal and creates motorcycles ![]() ![]() Doug's support team were never far away ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The bike was parked up on a knife edge ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After the impromptu bike shoot Greg rolled out his Kawasaki and both headed off to pick up some stuff from Louis the bike shop. ![]() ![]() ![]() We chewed the cud for a while and then Greg and Doug went for a wee ride out. Of all the days I reckon today was the one I missed having a bike the most ![]() I hope these few photos moisten the taste buds before the main meal

Hi
Mr. Doug and his Dirtster, yesterday evening: ![]() No oil spots there (and just in case - they all belong to my bikes He met me some 50 km before Graz and followed me on smaller roads to a coffee at my home where we waited for Hannes to pick him up. Never rode with somebody that slow - he just sucked in the sun and the landscape, all eyes and ears, and obviously enjoyed the route, took some photos etc. After some talk about life in general and hungarian/other old sidecars (which he knows a lot of) he left for an overnight stay at Hannes' place. I hoped for him it was warmer today, but my gauge says 3° C. Sorry Doug, and safe travels! Andy |
