I have to agree that all of the KLIM badges would keep me from buying... Other than that, it looks really nice!

price of pants

Hey there, I'm not saying it isn't in the thread somewhere, I am just saying after looking twice, I am too blind to find it:

Has Klim announced potential pricing on the Badlands PANTS (I found the $849 msrp for the Jacket; I'm not THAT blind)?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help a brother out.

Regarding Klim Bling: the logos wouldn't stop me from buying them, but I would be happier if they did get toned down a little.

When I say 4-season I mean adequate venting for the summer paired with waterproof / windproof / breathable membranes to block the elements.

The thermal / wicking layers are up to the rider.

This is what makes the Traverse (and upcoming Badlands) perfect. Not stuck with a crap liner that doesn't do anything, Or an outer shell that absorbs water. I ride the traverse suit from 95F to 26F. I've put three layers on underneath a Medium (5'10, 170) without any issues.
How can anyone complain about a $300 goretex jacket that can do all the traverse can do? If I was Klim I'd be selling it for at least $100 more....

As long it's not pink, I'll buy it. I'd prefer to be warm and dry over fashionably correct....

I think an armor option for this jacket would be nice. Maybe a non d3o armor option that is a little cheaper as well as the d3o version. Can't wait for the release of this...

you could probably use CE armour in this suit...questions is if you delete it when you buy would they credit you...the D3o is really not that much more expensive in the grand scheme of things if buying a suit at this price point to be honest.

Neck Brace Compatible please!!

Any chance someone could talk to Klim about making a neck (Leatt) brace compatible version along the lines of the Adventure system????

I would order on the spot if that was available.

Thanks

Here is a first look of the Klim Badlands Pro Jacket and Pants outfit to the adventure lineup from Klim. They did a surprise unveil this weekend at Indy.

I got to spend some time in it and it is going to be a huge win when it comes out late Fall 2011. Its a more cross-over oriented hard-core 4-season gore-tex shell at $849 vs the $1200 Adventure Rally Jacket.

The Rundown:

4 Season Gore-Tex Pro-Shell Armacore Exterior with the waterproof / breathable membrane built into the shell with Gore-Tex Stretch Panels on the shoulder blades. Extreme Durability - offroad rugged yet refined IMO.

Nuances:

Built in Kidney Belt and hidden Passport pocket.

Black and Silver Color options.

Slightly lighter weight than the Adventure Rally

Deflexion Armor / Mesh Chest Plate by DOW

Included d3o Armor with a next gen d30 T5 13mm backpad.

Fit:

I still wear a large and it is an enduro style cut, but I feel as it is more streamlined for crossover riding and slightly more tapered than the Adventure Rally - but in a good way.

Conclusion: It will be hardcore all-season Adventure ready - off the hanger. It's up to you to add the appropriate layer.

Video Review and hi-res shots to come shortly. (apologies for the candids tonight) I am 5'9" 175lbs wearing a large.

Here is the full spec sheet from Klim.

Happy to answer any questions as usual. Klim mentioned that this item was about 95% at this point, but there may be subtle changes before it ships late Fall.

NEW EDIT - HIS-RES Shots

Here are some hi-res shots of the Badlands Pro Jacket and Pants
