Running in the GS. Dungog district Australia.

Gidday,

Me and the new GS are getting along well. Just about ready for the first 1000km service. Here are a few pics from around the district where I've been riding.

Firstly, A map of where I live.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...34589&t=h&z=10

The Wootton Way. Approx 20km of very windy road that used to be the national highway between Sydney and Brisbane. Bypassed a couple of years ago and now abandoned...unpoliced... and perfect.

And Rawdon Vale Road near Gloucester. A personal favourite. Only about 45 mins from home.

It was Easter, and a lot of people were camping.

And on to coffee in Gloucester, where one is never the only one on a bike. A couple of Rhinos parked next to my "little" GS.

And a few days later, I was up at Chichester Dam. My in laws have a camping ground and 150 hectares about 600m downstream of this dam. Lovely part of the world.

And here we are, heading up to Salisbury (the banjo music stops after the first 20km...then the drums start)

Decisions, decisions... Chichester State Forest or Barrington Tops National Park?

State Forest it is.

On the edge of the road you can see the evil orange wet clay. About the only thing that has upset the GS so far.

Can you see the bike?

More jungle

The mark of the GS

Back in more open country.

But the banjos are still playing...

About 200m of fence decorated with old shoes...you work it out.

And so, home for lunch. Via Salisbury Gap Road. Another personal favourite.

So there you have it. A little taste of my part of the world.

Oh yes. She still cranky. Cost me an outdoor setting, two new mattresses and half an acre of pot plants so far. This is why BMWs are so expensive.

Looks awesome

Thinking about heading up there next weekend for a ride. Can you recommend a good camping spot for a Friday night? Needs to be accessible by bitumen for my mate on a road bike...

Try my in Laws camp ground

http://www.barringtons.com.au/ferndale/

Ian and Elenor will look after you. There is about 1km of easy dirt in their drive way. The turn off is just before the dam.
