SURE, we got you covered

As long as by EPIC you mean Electronically Packaged Internal Circuit

JJ, you are a one-man Madison Avenue!

Regarding the struggle, Boxerwrench, I'm sure glad it didn't get any more epic.

Seriously though, if I look back, the only epic thing about the additional tasks was that they were unexpected. I've done all these things before, (even got myself arrested a time or two!) I just normally wouldn't have done them without planning.

The parts are in transit, and will all be here by Wednesday. Some got here on Thursday, and some will get here on Monday. I'm working on the assembly fixtures right now.

Some pictures from last Friday.

Fancy things arrived from Samtec.

Triple row pin headers.

A 3 by 3 array. But that's 4 pins to many. Must make this...

...look like this, by pulling out the 4 corner pins.

A look at how some of this fits together.

The IICE Air has 4 settings. The settings are -10C, -20C, -30C, and no change.

All the bits fit into the box as shown, then filled about half way with epoxy.

Trimming and removing the 4 extra pins. 12 down, 148 to go.

Marketing has been after me for a couple of 'relative size' pics. Here's one.

Literally the size of a postage stamp.

Thanks for the update! I'm hoping this thing hits my mailbox before the 15th of June when I start my VA - Rockies trip. I'd really like to try this thing out on the trip.

4 settings

"The IICE Air has 4 settings. The settings are -10C, -20C, -30C, and no change."

I trust this will all be explained upon delivery, but how does one go about changing the settings?

Some parts from Avnet arrived on Tuesday. These are half the parts for the wiring harness.

These parts become the sealed connector that plugs into the air temperature sensor.

The bare contact, and the contact with the wire and seal in place.

The wire, contact, and seal insert into the connector housing like this.

The first thing you have to do is remember where on the bike you installed it. :-)

Then you pop the top and move the jumper to the setting you want.

-10C When it's really hot outside
-20C The rest of the time
-30C When it's really cold outside

That's it, you're an expert.

Having just recently found this thread, if there is a round 2 of manufacturing I am willing to pre-order.

So for us lazy fellas, the -20C setting is the "set it and forget it" position?

If you like. That's it right there.

And also, the -10C setting will work better with the upcoming product. We'll get into that when we start on the second product.
