Still makes me laugh
Is that a ring? Remind me to tell you about the time...I'll have lighting write up in the next couple of weeks - trying to solve some mounting issues (where is she now?) and waiting on pieces. Bitch is gonna glow.

The actual lights are the Hella DEs so excellent quality and they give out plenty of light. I even have them on during the day. The bracket and hardware is Twalcom and I personally think they're easilty the best looking aux spots available for the F800GS - better looking than Touratechs and cheaper. I would prefer the braket to be marginally lower to make the light pattern more triangular but I'm very happy with them. AdventureBikeWarehouse in the UK even fitted them free of charge. My mounting bracket for the toggle switch is modified as it had to be bent slightly to accommodate the Barkbusters. I do like the toggle switch but I'm replacing it for an Autoswitch that will work off the indicator cancel button. My current toggle switch position is not best placed as the tank bag hits it when on full lock. NB: apparently the current autoswitch is incompatible with HID... the new one is going into Beta testing soon according to the website. |

4" HIDs
I firstly had 55w driving lights (waste of time)...
Then I went with the narva compact 100mm, they were good on the road, but didn't help much in the dirt. So now I'm trying 4" hids, the near side is a euro pattern and far is a spot. I like the euro pattern and will probably change the spot to a euro down the track. Enough gas bagging here's the pics... ![]() ![]()

After a 'did you see those kangaroos's ' event - when we broke our never travel at night in Australia rule as we had made a Motel booking paid credit card and then dinner a a resturant took forever etc
I bought a pair of Baja Designs Halogen Soltek 4 inch lights - they just arrived and I see they are 100 watters .... The website only mentions 55watts for the halogen -so I was surprised to see the option ......anyway Do the F800/650 produce enough juice for lowbeam / highbeam / taillight / parking light and ignition to run a pair of 100 watters ? The book says they have a 400watt alternator ? ( + heated vest for her goodself ?) and using a Kildas light bar

Preview of new light kit.
Clearwater Kristas on top of Rigid Duallys. That's a bunch of LED lumens for the draw. ![]() Can't light 'em up though, waiting on Shorai due in next week.

anyone add only a single light instead of pairs? some of those LED ones might be small enough to mount under the beak or on top of the fender without getting in the way of fork compression.
If you have, post a picture of how you mounted it. |

I used some depot grade aluminum angle, chop to size and sand away sharp edges. I mounted them up sandwich style - no hardware mods needed. The lights are Vision X (also sold as Denali by TwistedThrottle) 10 watts (.75 amps) and 900 lumens each; they are skinny and bright. ![]() ![]()
