Well, Doc; your audibles, with your planning prowess, are more sound than most people's hard coded routes. You calling audibles on a Mobius is like watching Peyton Manning at the line of scrimmage--a sure thing.

Making good time so far. Not a lot of drama, but some stories to tell. Tomorrow we finally get route options other than the alcan.

Currently holed up in a methotel in Ft. St. John. Rain forcast for tonight. Vic day weekend... Hopefully campgrounds not too crowded. Trying to make sure we route away from the wildfire areas. Bikes doing well.

Total fire ban in all of Alberta so there may be some camping cancellations. Rain is a good thing right now as the forest fires have been nasty. The town of Slave Lake was 1/3 destroyed and the smoke from the fires is lingering over Edmonton.

I've known this intrepid pair since they came to ride with a group of us Bluenosers, back in 2006.

I've been following their trips/ride reports ever since; but this is the first time I actually caught up with them while they're mobiusing(is that a word

)anyhow....Spot check indicates they have stopped in Grand Prarrie Alberta for the night

!!! Good luck on the remainder of the ride, and I look forward to reading about it!!!!!

Looks like they pulled into a nice campground for the evening!

Due west of Edmonton, bumped up against the Rockies...can't wait to see the photos Doc!

Currently, they appear to be at "Grande Cache" Alberta....Must be a scenic touring route; cause they are pretty close to Edmonton; which I thought was their stop for this section of the Mobius!!

I thought they were going to be riding till the 29th....if so, I think they are going to be able to tour a lot of northern AB before they store the bikes in Edmonton!!

Drying out after three nights camping and then riding in intermittant cold rain (including 14h straight last nite. More forecast 2 nite &2 morrow. Got a room, getting dry & civilized, then back out into it in the AM.

The fire ban is kinda ironic at this point.

Finally able to find a copy of the CENTRAL Alberta backroads atlas (long story) and we're now plotting a 2-day route to Edmonton arriving on thursday for a couple days of bike maintenance.
