Question NC/SC coast

I am planning a trip to Sunset Beach / Calabash NC. I might ride out to Outer Banks one day, but aside from that, any suggestions of roads or places to ride around that area would be appreciated.

For some real fun you might try riding the beach on the Outer Banks. There are several places where there is beach access and vehicles are allowed. One is near the southern end, can't think of the name, but the northern end up past Corolla is open almost to the Virginia border. My wife and I have ridden the beach two-up on the GS and loved it. Check the tidal charts (go at low tide), drop your air pressures, and enjoy! You'll get to sections of OBX that few ever get to see. Besides, I love to see the faces of the 4x4 crowd when I rooster the rear tire deep into the sand, then get off and walk away leaving the bike standing upright.

You can find more information on riding the beaches on the Outer Banks here
