we wanted to explore dove springs, but just didn't have enough time. we played for a short while going up and down the hills, and the sandwash. i'm thinking of coming back and do a weekend event... bring the quads.

our tour guide showed up, he had to go jawbone and rent a helmet...

the hill climbs were not terribly steep but the loose dirt put a twist, and the rocks/boulders littered everywhere took away the best line

oh yeah, that's the mighty klr

ruts, rocks and roots =

eric agrees, it's big bike friendly...

ersin too!

OK. Here we go...
It was an other great day ride for us LA area n00bs. We had good time, put some extra mileage on the bikes (I had 405 miles from door to door), ride on almost all kinds of terrain, sand, whoops, sandy whoops, rocks, more rocks, ruts, etc. beautiful scenery, and ofcourse met some new inmates. It is always nice to meet new riders.

Small bikes look funny on the trucks...

But they sure are comfy going back home after hours and hours of hot, sweaty desert miles... If you know what I mean...

Eric and his 1200GS Adv. It looks like one of Batman's toys.

Are we lost already???

Joel on his trusty "small bike"

Joel and his "small bike" taking a walk on the trail. How romantic...

Hey, who turned the earth 90 degrees clockwise???

Can you see Eric in this picture? Is he visible enough???

And finally,YES big bikes rule @ 85mph...

Rest of the pictures are on my Smugmug page http://fyyff.smugmug.com/Motorcycles...s-June-18-2011

A couple pics from the ride up to the cabin.

You don't want to see this guy coming the other way in a dark alley.

Panorama of one of our trailside stops.

Beautiful country up near the cabin.

Horse Canyon on the way back down

It was a fun ride - Eric, Ersin, and Jason are all badasses on those big bikes. Hopefully we can get out to the area again once it cools off a little.

thanks ersin and jon for contributing nice pics. it was a memorable ride, first time for many of us to the cabin, and the ride up and down was a learning one for most of us.

nOObs can have fun too...

will post the rest of the pics tomorrow and the vids later.

hope you guys enjoy the RR.
