Off to La Serenaer then over the mountain, back to Argentina. 1600 feet oh ya.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So, we got to the boarder X, and as we were there the rain started coming down hard. I made a joke to the boarder X guard about having camping. The next thing I knew we were set up to camp at the boarder X'ing. They were great and saved us a very wet night. Try that in the US. ![]() ![]() Next up, the Baja.

That mud on the 40 is slick stuff, huh? Glad you guys weren't banged up any worse. It's weird seeing the places I rode through when they are dry.

We leave our customs friends, and find a place in Chilecito for the night.
Then we find a great place in Arena del Rio with home made wine. We stay the night there, and then ride into Salta. This was the Baja (to us). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() One for the Jeep fans ![]() ![]() ![]() Our Hostel in Chilecito ![]() Our Hostel in Arena Del Rio (Misery Goat, The best wine of the whole trip!!!). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Its decision time. Do we do Bolivia or Southern Chile????

Hey, I stayed in Chilecito. Did you go up through Belen?? There were 2 DEEP river crossings on the north and south side of the town. I met a Dane on a F800 GS in Cafayate and he had to detour a couple hundred miles out of the way b/c he didn't want to risk the crossings.
Where is Arena del Rio?? From Cafayate I went to Belen, Chilecito, then Mendoza. And you know my vote is to go to Bolivia.

Maybe I have the name wrong, but Area del Rio was just south of Cafayate. Maybe just out side of Colalao del Valle.
