Shartlesville Breakfast Meet 7/10

Anyone going to the Shartlesville PA breakfast ride tomorrow?? Its held at Haag's Hotel in Shartlesville in northern Berks county. Just off I-78 near PA 183. I'm planning on being there either on my DL1000 or DR650.

Terry

Sorry I missed this. It's be a few years since I met up there for breakfast. The breakfast was awesome and I still run into guys that I met there.

If I had only returned from Nova Scotia yesterday instead of today...

Hey TZ, how's the new 950 working??? Hope you had a good ride to NS. I want to do that ride again. Its been 20 years since I did it on a GS, a Suzuki GS750 that is.

The ride to Shatlesville turned in to one of those days when you just ride a little farther, and then farther still and yes just a little bit more until you find youself riding a LOT more than expected. My ride today covered a little more than 200 miles. All on a trusty DR650.

Went to Port Clinton, rode the fire tower gravel road. Met a guy on a Victory cruizer at the top, near the tower, who told me about a dirt road that goes over the mountain near Kempton/ Wannamakers. Found that road (did it twice ). It brings you out on to RT 309 near Snyders. Crossed 309 and took some back roads that brought me out to Parryville, then on to Jim Thorpe, rode some of the powerlines / rail tracks near Lake Hauto, and then more powerline near New Philadelphia, mixed in a bit of dirt roads near Minersville, and finally got back to Lancaster County around 3:30PM.

Heck of a day...had a blast. Can't wait to do it again!!
