It didn't stop raining until I got back to the Malahat. Coming down the south side the road started to dry out so I treated myself to a few of my favourite twisty roads for the last bit of my ride home.


That is by far, the best section of pavement ive ever rode on the island! Its another world in there!

There's a whole perfect route from my house - West Saanich to Durrance Lake Rd to Millstream to Finlayson Arm to Humpback then a loop around Gillespie, East Sooke and Kangaroo. From there I can go back over Humpback and Finlayson Arm then up Munn and Prospect Lake. It takes a couple of hours and is around 200km - fabulous!

Great report! I have always wanted to get out that way with Nelson, BC and Whistler calling me strongly. Snowboarding and motorcycling inspire the hell out of me.
