San Diego Chatter Thread
Ok guys and gals.... I'm finally moving back to good old San Diego and there seems to be a lack of ride coordination and chatter for this part of CA. Surely there are lots of FF's in San Diego!
I've been looking and can't seem to find a good thread where the San Diego kids coordinate their stuff. The "Chatter Thread" worked really well for us in Hampton Roads so I'm hoping this one will take off as a good starting place for everyone in the San Diego area. Ready.... GO! |

I'll start..
Hi!
My name is Dave and I currently ride a 2008 Wee and a 2009 C-14. Still not sure where in SD I'll be living when I get back there in October, but I'm leaning to Jamul. Will likely get another XR 650R when I get back there so I have something better suited to for Ocotillo and the like. Current bikes: ![]()

For local chit chat and local rides see the San Diego Adventure Riders.
A lot of members are on both forums.

Yep, I tried that but never got my confirmation email from the Admin guys.
They must have realized that I don't own a KTM. ![]() Hopefully they will eventually get back to me. |

Even if you have a KTM you never get an email back lol. I dont like Jamul too much. Yeah its a nce small town but theres nothing there so a cup o sugar is 20 minutes away. I live in Alpine where its still the small town atmosphere with all the nice conveniences of a larger city including a local brewery and a casino! You let me know when you are in the area and we will go out and ride through the "mountains." I miss the nice roads of Washington sometimes but Alpine gives me that homey feeling will the trees around so it kinda makes up for it.

Ah yes.... I love Alpine. Great little taco shop there right off the interstate...in that little shopping center. Used to be called Mañana's years ago. Great chimichangas!
Is it still there? Will definitely drop you a line when I get out there. |

I dont know to be honest since I'm not a mexican food fan. There is a taco shop up alpine blvd from tavern that is called Alpine Taco Shop but alas I haven't been there. The only bitch I have is there is no motorcycle shop in town sans one that is for harley fags.

Never did much exploring in the Escondido area. Any good stuff near you?? Did most of my riding on Lake Morena and Gordon's Wells areas. While Lake Morena is all ridable on the Wee, the deep sand is a bit too much. :mutt |

The OHVA out there is called Corral Canyon. LINK HERE
Used to ride it on my CRF450 and a fair rider could do 95% of it on a larger dual sport. The trails are marked pretty well, so as long as you have a GPS or compass you can find you way around fairly easily. I'll definitely be hitting that area in Oct.

When in Oct will you be around? I have a 30 day cruise in mid Sep so I won't be around for the first half of Oct.
