+1 what pnoman said but I would like to add that rt 250 east at rt28 (thornwood) has new pavement and is also awsome all the way into VA. You could go north from Churchville VA on 42 and pick up rt33 headed west from harrisonburg to get back to judy gap and seneca rocks.

I'm afraid there will be no ride report this time...ZZRWife and I have done most of our recent trips on a bike, but due to time constraints, and a messed up foot, this time we're in a Buick.

Would love to ride a bike for a day,if we can rent one, though.

Everything seems to be geared toward exploring nature here, but that is such an everyday thing where we are from, that we are looking for the opposite.

Music, fine dining, interesting places to eat, cool places to stay in a cabin, antique stores, with short bursts of interesting twisty roads(just cause the Buick really is more of an Interstate car)

We are going to head south to North Carolina tomorrow, then back up to Virginia, then who knows??

Many thanks for all your replies!

If you get to Fredericksburg, Va 22405 try the following:

Bistro Bethem for a wonderful meal, and great bar.

Poppy Hill for great food.

La Petit Auberge for a very cute, tiny bar, and great mixologist !

Capital Ale House for several hundred beers on the menu, and a terribly knowledgeable wait staff.

Otter House has good burgers, and a good bar upstairs.

All these establishments are within 300 yds of one another....

Yeah, Rt 20 north of Webster Springs is a great ride, but if he finds out about Rella's Diner, our little secret will be out.
