Julia Roberts do Italy!

Hi everyone! I am - Julia, my husband - Robert, so we are - Julia Roberts and we from Moscow, Russia. Here is our report about trip to Italy this summer on our Yamaha T-MAX. This trip took 16 days, 6850 km. From Russia, through the Byelorussia, Poland, Czech Republic and Austria, having covered about 2500 km. with 2 nights in Poland and Austria, on the morning of the third day we drove to Italy. The whole day went to the Dolomites, drove 300 km, but felt like a thousand have passed. But what kinds of roads, viewsand air!

The next day we did the main point of our trip - we drove through the Stelvio Pass (Passo dello Stelvio), "greatest driving road in the world" according to British automotive show Top Gear. This car pass is the highest in Italy and the second highest in Europe, built in the period from 1820 to 1826 years and consists of 60 hairpins, 48 of which are numbered from the north. This is a Mecca for bicycles and motorcycles. The maximum height of 2757m, our Max drove very difficult, very large height, and there are all passing motorcycles made very strange sounds MUST see!

After the Stelvio, driving along the Lake Como, we arrived to our friends villaat Lake Maggiore. And at once began a heavy rain and hail. The next day we planned to spend on the lake, take a trip to its famous islands, but was again heavy rain and our friends offered to take us by car to the station, so that we can go by train to Milan to see the Duomo. So we did. Duomo - the fourth largest church in the world and the world's largest building made of marble. It is decorated with more than 3,000 marble statues, decorative carvings on the incomparable marble, stained glass windows. Very beautiful!

Near the Duomo, is located Galleria Vittorio Emanuele - the oldest shopping mall in the world. In the center of galleries on the floor is paved with a mosaic of Turin Bull. The unfortunate animal - there is a sign that if you stand one leg on the Bull eggs and turn around, there will be happiness and wealth. Just imagine what there is a hole in the floor!

Rest of the day we spent at Lake Maggiore.

Leaving the Alps and the lakes we headed south towards the Mediterranean, to the Genoa. When we moved into this famous port city, we were shocked by the huge number of two-wheeled vehicles, mostly the maxi-scooters, which drive all: teens, respectable ladiesand men in business suits, the policemen, the elderly, etc. In Genoa, we wandered through the narrow streets in the evening, it was pretty scary. In the daytime the old city is more attractive and interesting. But the port interesting at night.

We continued our journey and drove through the mountain streamers, along the Mediterranean coast came to the area of Five Lands (Sinque terre) - small and pretty villages on the coast. In one of them, Monterosso, we planned to spend almost all day, but because of the absolutely incomparable sea stayed there for 2 days. Impression only spoiled attitude of local residents to Moto tourists: entry to the village is prohibited to all vehicles (only to residents, taxis and service vehicles). Right at the entrance to the village is very little parking, but it is completely occupied by locals motorcycles and cars. Nearby there is a multilevel half-empty car parking, but they refused to put the motorbikes, even for a double payment. We saw five motor tourists from France, they were unable to find a free parking place, turned around and left. And we decided to stand on the street in a small busy parking. The next day we found at our Max fine for wrong parking - 23 euros!

Next was the home of parmigiano cheese - Parma. We examined it very quickly.

to be continued...
