can you elaborate? are there construction improvements or rubber technologies that make a Mitas better? you're being vague where specifics are needed. i know the Shinko and t-63 benefit from cheaper production labor, but i also read Mitas is produced in eastern Europe to save $. in other countries people report the Mitas tire being an affordable option and thus very popular. that is not true in the US. any ideas why?

i'm trying to help you out, as i have no investment in Mitas, before your vendor thread disappears into 3rd page oblivion.

Let me try to explain you the economical situation here in Europe first.
The Czech Republic is a part of the European union and NOT a cheap eastern country .
We are still producing on European machines , with people from the European Union ...we have an own Institute which is accredited by the DOT and the EU ... we are not producing in Asia ( and we wont )

Try out a Skoda Superb instead of a Passat from the European production... it´s the better one

We produce tyres since 1933 ....

We just bought the old Winnebago facility in Iowa to produce tyres ... ( does Shinko do so ???)

... what we know is that we believed in selling without any marketing activities... now ... we do something.... we adapt the marketing to the quality... not the other way.

I still like the tires, running a C-18 on my XRr right now but I think the C-20 may be a little bit better as the new one is chunking already.
I hope they improve customer service in the states, that's my only problem so far.

The C-18 is more for semi hard ground....
The C-20 more for hard ground.

May we estimate the percentage of using on hard ground ( like road , rocks a.s.o) as too low...

It appears your 150/70/17's are either not available here in the US, or Mitas has a terrible US distributor who won't post current inventory on their web site and will not respond to requests via email.

I'd actually like to see the tire look like new closeup on the bike (as in what they look like when i buy a brand new pair and mount them), not worn out tires. Showing how they wear over time is useful, however.

Please try and sell me a bit on why i SHOULD pay top $ for a Mitas vrs just saying try all 3 and get back to me. Seems both you & your US distributor have the same easy going attitude on getting these tires out to the US biker. What does comparing 2 cars have anything to do with this conversation?

Is that Iowa factory going to produce motorcycle tires or just your farm stuff? Are you implying there will be much better motorcycle supply after this factory is online?

The last time I had it out with the dirt wheels on it was pretty rocky hard terrain, more than usual. The XR does tend to shred tires pretty good though. We did a lot of stuff like this.

Well...you brought the Czech Mitas close to a product from fare eas t... ...

I tried to explain you that the Czech Republic is a part of the E.U. ... the rules , technology , engineering , knowledge ... all European ... Czech´s , German´s , French´s , English... all in our factories.People on the machines are motivated .... and they are allowed to have his own mind.

I gave you the comparison between Volkswagen and Skoda to show you that the Czechs are clearly able to produce a perfect quality

And .... by the way ... We are using Kevlar, Aramid as well... we use multi tread compound...

What if a tyre fail ? ...Can I give you a sheet of paper with some advertisement and some marketing phrases ? ...

No missing blocks, just some chunking. The 20 didn't do that at all, but we ride a variety of terrain from that to red clay so I thought I'd try the softer terrain tire.
