Help identifying a bike please

Would one of wise gentlemen mind telling me what kind of bike is on the pole ?

It is a BSA , can't tell what year or model from the distance, my guess would be a mid 60's Spitfire.

BSA a-50 500cc or a-65 650cc , they are very similar. Far to nice and complete to rot on a pole.

Yep, seems like terrible waste to me. From what I could see it was 100 % complete.

I'm guessing it's a Thunderbolt.

It still has the badges on the gas tank. Didn't you have a pair of binoculars in your kit?

That's more like it. I thought the one on the post had twin carbs, but on a closer look it appears to be the single without the chrome filter covers. We only got a few examples of the US models here, most of the BSAs and Triumphs imported came with the bigger Brit tanks. Can't ever remember seeing a small tank Thunderbolt. Nice bikes, the single carb 500s and 650s.

The Honda looks like a 1980 CB750 Custom minus the exhaust system.

Pole-ish

It's a Polish BSA. Lots more of those around than Polish Triumphs--thanks to the Germans. (Apologies to the true Polish patriots out there.)
