Does the 690 water pump need preventative rebuilding like the 640 does?

never herd of one failing yet so I wouldn't think so. Then again maybe every 690 owner is secretly doing preventative rebuilding like on the 640 and thats the resaon nobody has mentioned it

I'd beter rush off and preventatate mine just in case

Hi Juames, Personally, I got about 30k miles out of my first 690 and never touched the water pump. In the old 690 thread, a few guys were replacing seals etc.. Immediately, only one or two come to mind that actually experienced failures, and those seemed to be along the lines of regular wear and tear.

You would probably get a more thorough answer to your question HERE.
