The Beartooth Pass is definitly not on the way from Mammoth Hot Springs to Glacier Nat. Park, but riding the Beartooth Hwy will put a huge grin on your face. Just my 2 cents.

Day 5 Lusk Wy to Grand Teton
Shortly out of town I started seeing a bunch of Antelope.
![]() The road was long and lonely with very little civilization along the way. They did have rest stops, and I got a history lesson. ![]()

The GPS had routed me into Grand Teton via the east entrance. I had thought I would be coming in from the South so I was all messed up for a while.
It was okay though because I came up over some pass where they were doing road construction so I got to ride some gravel and mud with a couple on a Harley from New Jersey. I didn't think to get a pic. Shortly after entering the park I got dumped on my a massive thunderstorm. I took shelter at the Jackson Lake Lodge , but not before I got wet and had a water crossing to get into their parking lot it had rained so hard. A reminder of where I am at ![]() I guess there have been two people killed in Yellowstone this year by Grizz. |

I set up camp and spotted a couple mule deer about 30 yards from my tent.
![]() I ate supper at the restaurant next to the campground and snapped a couple pics as the sun set on the Tetons.

On to Yellowstone.
I wasn't sure how far it was from GT to YS, so I was surprised when I stopped for fuel and was told it was only 2 miles.

I planned on staying at the fed campground in Mammoth, but it was full when I got there. I followed the GPS's advice to the next campground. It was an RV place with cabins---no tents. The only cabin they had left was a 2 room for $81..So home for the night.
![]() I really wanted a shower..fed campground in Teton had no showers, plus they had wifi so I can do a little research about my next move on the trip. Plus the view from the front porch isn't bad either.
