My Baja 1000 2012. Keep tabs here.

I made the decision today to enter this race. So far I've made a brainstorming map of what I need to do. A schedule will following along with a workout schedule, diet program and weigh ins. I'm 5'10", 210 lbs and will get down to 175lbs.

Here is a link to my brainstorm so far. Here's my rough Schedule for the next year. Diet to follow. This is my formal notification that I'm not going to be lazy anymore and get this done.

I'll be riding an street legal XR650L, will be ironman'ing it, and will be riding to and from the race on the bike. Following this challenge, which if you can't see it, is a challenge by Ken Kosiorik to Ironman the race, AND ride to and from the race. I thought for a few days, and decided to accept it, but for 2012.

My Youtube Channel to keep up with my Video Diary.

all details are subject to change without notice.

nice!

Looking forward to the journey.

Questions:

1. what is the budget?
2. Honda pits?
3. how many chase trucks?
4. have you thought of doing any BITD races?

I'm happy for you.

10k training to race. I have the bike. I have a stack of knobbies that I got for free for training rides.

I don'tknow the pits yet. On paper so far it's one chase truck.

Other races are on the list, though I haven't started looking at any yet. Thanks for the suggestion.

keep them all coming, even you strongbad I look forward to everything.

well if you set your bike up so it's reliable, set a smooth and comfortable pace, make sure you stay hydrated and nourished, take plenty of breaks, there is no reason you shouldn't be able to do this. All you have to do is:

1. Get there.
2. Start.
3. Finish.
4. Get home.

No pressure to be competitive.

I road to the 1k, 5hun and 2fity last year and this year... I'll be happy that the route is a loop this year so I can see some of the course and the finish. I want to get a little deeper into the pits and see how it all goes down, maybe do a ride along if I can figure that one out.

Beech , I might be able to get you a small donation/sponsership,

with a catch , would you be willing to put a sticker on your helmet and on the bike somewhere.
