Excellent!!

Hey Dave, the new bike arrived, and I took your advice, had the MOD skid plate installed right away. It works well with the F800gs coloring and style and I will be installing the SW Motech crash bars, a nice combo. Thanks for suggesting MOD!! Cheers DD

The GL crew recently installed one of our SSF (side stand feet) on their F800 GS:
I quote"

Finally got the Moto Overland sidestand foot installed on the BMW F800GS. Took all of about two minutes, and the first minute was spent finding the right Allen key. The one-piece design is simple and beautiful, and Moto Overland (Giant Loop's distributor in Canada) uses an innovative lock washer that actually works. I still have a couple of feet of snow on the ground at my house, but it's warm in town - stay tuned for a little test in the squishy desert sand . . .

. . . OK, back from my test ride. Works great! Here's a pic of me leaning my full weight on the sidestand while parked in the grass at Dave's place.

end quote"

Thanks guys!!

Just posted in Parallel Universe:

" Moto Overland Goodies

The mailman dropped off my package from Canada today! Inside was MOD's Top Rack and their side stand foot.

I want to thank Dave for the help he's provided me over the last week or so. He answered all my questions and gave me several solutions for the top boxes/bags that I was looking to run.

I was completely impressed with the fit and finish of both pieces of MOD equipment...looking forward to trying it out.

So here's what was sitting on my front porch...

And inside was the top rack, side stand foot and the spacers for the Wolfman Expedition Panniers/racks (which I will eventually be running).

Installation of the rack couldn't have been simpler, I think it took less than 5 minutes and that included a quick run back in the house for a cold one.

Here's a shot with my old Joe Rocket tailbag (currently the only tail bag I own) off my R1150R.

Couple shots of the spacers

One more look at the bike

The side stand foot didn't get installed tonight, I'm giving it a little "black treatment" before putting it on the bike. Since almost everything else on the bike is black I figured I'd put my own touches on the foot. I taped it off, cleaned the surface and then hit it with some primer and 3 coats of black semi gloss paint. It's curing tonight so I'll get some addition pictures of it tomorrow once it gets installed.

Here it is taped up and ready to paint

Thanks again Dave for all your help! Now I need to get my Wolfman Rolies ordered as well as one of Caribous 34L top boxes. That should give me two solid top box/bag solutions for running solo/two-up."

" Took a few shots for the side stand foot a couple nights ago and just got a chance to upload them tonight.

Painted and ready to install...

I got a chance to try out the side stand foot this evening in some soft ground and it worked well."

F650 GS Side Stand Foot

The F800 GS Side Stand Foot finally has a brother!!

Introducing the F650 GS Side Stand Foot!!

All the same features as the F800 version of course...just designed to fit the mirrored image foot that the F650 GS uses.

The shape, like the F8GS version is refined to have the least impact of the raising and lowering of the side stand, minimal protrusion outside the bike, no sharp points and provides 2.5 times the surface area for solid support.
Disc-Lock (r) washers keep it secure and negate the need for a any top plate since they are a combined 1/8" thick stainless steel. Fully compatible with the center stand.

Now in stock! Same $29.99 CAD

Thanks for checkin it out!

Dave

MOD BMW F650 GS fat foot

Here's a pic of the MOD F650 GS unmounted so you can see it in all it's CNC machined glory:

Also please note that this is designed to fit the stock F650 GS's not the lowered (suspension that is) version.

Thanks!

Finally got the side stand enlarger from Dave! Haven't gotten around to fixing it up yet but i reckon it will take max of 1 min. Surprisingly it took just a week to reach me from Canada all the way here to Singapore considering shipping costed $5! Thanx again Dave!

PS: MOD's cardboard envelopes rock!

Hey Leslie!

How did your Alaskan Adventure on the Tigers go?

I see the link listed...I'll have to check it out.

...and yes good point that I should've mentioned. We had some computer melt downs so there haven't been any website updates for a while.

We do have them in stock...part# FF601R and please email if interested.

dave(at)motooverland(dot)com

In this case I've already emailed you though.

Thanks!

Dave

Trying to get off work for the Fall Newb ride....hope to be there!

Awesome little thing

We bought two of course...Hey Dave I really like this foot print better than our Touratech. Seems easier to get the stand down on slopes and doesn't grab the ground as much as the TT. Looks better too. Great product and really happy we installed them. I painted mine black and Cheryl has kept hers raw!
