Regarding rechroming, that was not my intention, it is way expensive, compared to the value of the bike. It was just to get an easy paintable surface :)

I would use some fairly fine steel wool to get the chrome ready to paint,cheap and works fine. That headlight/ft fender is quite original. Only bike to compete with that would be an old Jawa.
I once traded a perfectly good running GS750 Suzuki for a nice looking but clapped out Norton 850.
That was the end of me traveling out of town on bikes for a while,the Norton would do maybe 100 miles between major wrenching sessions. Women liked it though.
